So it looks like the S4 that I traded back to the dealer is back up for sale at Rusnak. They are asking $34,999. That's almost 10k more than what they paid for it.

So they, put 4 new tires on it, Contact 2's, fixed all the curb rash (4 wheels), and cpo'd it. 10k profit for them if they get their price. Somebody go and lowball them.

BTW, whoever fixed the curb rash should be shot. It looks absolutely terrible. The worst thing that I have ever seen. It looks like a supermarket parking lot gypsy did it. FYI, curb rash was from prior owner before me and it was on all fours.

I paid $35k for an 05.5 fully loaded (incl. nav) in immaculate condition w/ 34k mile miles CPO'd 6 months ago. I also got what I wanted on my trade in so I didn't get killed on that end either. Gotta be careful with whom you deal with. My local dealer at that time wanted $37k for an 04 w/o barebones S4 with 32k miles.

Sounds like a nice deal. I got my 2005 B6 S4 with 15k on it for $32k in July of 2006. Now the dealer is selling that same car, which now has 27k miles on it, today, 2008, for 35k. Who says cars don't appreciate? lol lol lol

NI4, they put new tires on the car. How foolish if they did the wheels after mounting the tires. They ruined a perfectly scuffed set of OEM RS6 wheels. I'll take a pic of their work today and post it later this afternoon. You guys are going to be amazed at the shoddy work.

I got three months off of work and am loving it. Going to go and cause some havoc around the city.

If dealerships made $10k profit on every car they sold, everyone would be in the business of selling cars. That's a huge markup on the price they paid on this car. In almost all business situations, that is an unrealistic profit margin. The only time I saw ridiculous numbers like that was when selling audio/video interconnects at full retail at over 100% markup. Try a consistent 20% profit margin to keep a business like a car dealership rolling. In that industry it's about volume and not single car profits.

Obviously you missed some of those classes that you brought up, chief.

I don't work in business anymore. I work for the man, the machine, Hollywood film industry. Couldn't beat the pay. I'll go back sometime in the future, but I am having too much fun right now.

The 3 months off came from a Mountain Bike accident, bad landing off a big jump. i am also going to take an additional 6 weeks of to be with the newborn baby. I'm not talking about the RS4. I really did have a kid.

In California, the state pays for the father to take 6 weeks off also. It's only $1,000 per wek but it's better than nothing. The father has 1 year from the birth of the child to take family leave to bond with the new child.

My local Audi stealership mark-up my traded RS6 for $15,000 after cpo'd it!!

After reading these posts...doesn't it make sense to go to Audi and have your car CPO'd for 2-3K and then sell it right afterwards. It looks like the dealerships are making a decent return on the trade-in by this method and now we have Craigslist and Ebay for advertisement exposure. The only thing we can't match is their special financing offers.

Thanks. Yeah, I could have taken time off but it would've been unpaid leave unless I used vacation time. No state paid leave here in PA. That's a good deal you have out in Cali.

You can only buy a CPO from the dealership as the CPO warranties are no longer transferable. There was a cut-off date sometime in 06 as to when you purchased your car and it being transferable.

The whole trade in process is pretty ridiculous. I understand that both used car dealers and Audi dealers are out to make a profit, but jeeze. Giving you $25k on trade in and relisting it for $35k after a detail, wheel rehab, and inspection. [O_O]

Doesn't suprise me though. I went to check out a preowned car and the salesman was asking me if i'd trade-in anything. When I said 'No, I'd get financing elsewhere and pay cash' the price on the car dropped $8k....and you know they were still going to profit somewhat.
