Thumbs up Feeler: Eurovibe | Massive Meet / Run

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Lately, I’ve been having ideas of having a huge meet and 100-mile drive with fellow european enthusiasts. So, to crave my hunger, I am proposing an idea to get this idea into reality.

I know about all the big shows, such as bimmerfest, angiefest, hot import nights, so the date isn’t set in stone, yet. This is more of a feeler, to see how many of you guys are interested. I go to meets and I hear guys that would love to just take a ride then just sit around for hours and chat. Don’t get me wrong chatting about cars is fun, but being a passenger in my mom’s and seeing 35+ euros on the parkway is just pure heaven.

So I have a few ideas:

I’ll give you a little insight of my drawing table:

*Location: Jones Beach State Park *Start Location/Meet Everyone*
    URL: http://www.nysparks.state.ny.us/park....asp?parkID=46

Directions: 33 miles from Manhattan via Meadowbrook Parkway South and Wantagh Parkway south to the Park.

I’ve been here numerous times and there is tons of space. If we do get a crazy amount of cars, I will call and arrange the permits, etc....

*Time: 11AM - Just enough time for the late sleepers to get enough rest. Also gives time for people who want to wash there car in the morning that didn’t have time to, the night before. We won’t leave for the run until 1PM. (If we do the run.)

    *Run ##IF WE DO IT##

Start: Jones Beach State Park - EN-ROUTE to - Montauk Point Light House.

Anyone, who has gone out to the hamptons before knows the ride is pretty straight forward and idiot proof to get lost. (See map below.)

Once, we get out there.... They have great places to pick up food/eat. Great spots to take flawless pictures. As usual, we will have a pro photographer on sight. He will be hired and will be taking photos as we make the cruise on the parkway. I want this whole event photographed for memories of the monster meet.

    *Prizes/Mobile Meet ##IF WE DON’T DO THE RUN##

If we can get a crazy turnout, I would contact local sponsors/forum sponsors for a bunch of prizes to give out. I was also thinking if we can get more then 60 cars, which shouldn’t be a problem, charging an admission fee (not much.) and have a contest and different arrangements. Trust me, I’m not in it to make money, I could careless about that.

*Date: Thinking somewhere in the week: 5/15-5/30 - Date undecided right now, but this is just a feeler. Weather should be warmer, so we don’t have to worry about the cold Thursday night meets, as usual.

*IFs : We get over 100 cars, which shouldn’t be a problem based on other meets, I think we could probably get some sort of police escort. We shall see.

    Please share you ideas. Thanks.

This has been posted on: E90, E46, Audizine.

There is also another one of these 100 mile runs posted(mbworld/vw), but it seems as it didn’t get a lot of attention and the threads died down. Lets try to make this successful!

I will keep all forums in touch!

    Sounds good guys.

I'll be setting up a small team. We want alot of planning to go into this one so it runs flawless. If you remember, we had over 150 cars at a staten island meet and it was crazy, because not enough space.

I shall be getting a website up, asap to keep the cars in order.

Re: Feeler: Eurovibe | Massive Meet / Run

I would so do this if it was a run in the order direction...It would take me 3 hours to get home from Montauk and though I love driving, 6 hours behind the wheel in a single day and not in the direction of Miami would be hard.
