Have headlight washers? Rather have W/M injection?

Me too. Here is how I did it.

I bought a used Snow Performance Stage 2 kit from 3.0 King. He had been using the bulkhead fitting to tap into the washer reservoir. Here is a picture of the bulkhead fitting.

So my plan was to install the fitting in the bottom of the reservoir then disconnect and seal off the hose going to the headlight washers. I didn't want my headlight washers sucking up valuable injection sauce plus they just spray all over the car and cause water spots. As it turned out, I tested them and they weren't working anyway.

Completely removing the reservoir from the car turned out to be a bigger pain in the ass than I expected. However I noticed the hose to the headlight washers had a quick disconnect on it. So I gave up on the bulkhead fitting and decided to kill 2 birds with one stone. I'm sure I'm not the first to this, but I figured I would take some pictures for your enjoyment.

Here is the quick disconnect fitting and the hose that Snow Performance provides. The red hose goes in the fitting but is too small and not snug at all. No problem, I was planning on sealing the bulkhead with GOOP anyway.
(Note: Be sure to have a bucket handy when you unplug this quick disconnect from the reservoir hose.)

    Here they are GOOPed together.

Here is the other end of the quick disconnect on the stock reservoir hose.

    Here they are connected together.

Here are some shots with everything hooked up.

I did the same except didnt use that red tubing, that stuff sucks. Hardens after time and is too stiff to start with. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get some of the clear tubing, same size, used for refrigerator water lines, it works great, doesnt harden and is much more flexible. Be careful with those quick couplers that they supply with the kit, they will leak (and possibly fall apart) over time. Not something you want to happen if your relying on the meth for your tune

If you get around to replacing those PTC (push-to-connect) fittings on everything, go with metal ones next time, they last forever and hold better.

I'll look into replacing them. I just wanted show a quick and dirty alternative to drilling and tapping the reservoir.

Ive said it multiple times to use the WW feed, you could have just pulled the hose going to the WW on the drivers side, pushed it right over that quick release and put a clamp on it (rather than trusting that sealant)

The hose going to the headlight washer? You said WW. I think the hose would have kinked at that angle, given where the pump is mounted.

Like I said, I know I'm not the first to do this. I just wanted to share some pictures for the community. I think a lot of people use the bulkhead fitting because that is what comes with the kit.

So when are you going to be able to test it (drill into intake manifold)? Also, anyone know a good cheap source for pure methanol? When I get around to this, I'd rather not use washer fluid mixtures...

I'm injecting into the custom aluminum intake plenum, right before the throttle body. Rich had already installed the nozzle in there when it was in Steve's car.

Right now I am using regular old blue washer fluid.

You can source M1 (100% meth) from any race gas supplier. Also check your area for shops that do sprint cars, they run on 100% methanol, you can buy it there as well

How long on average does it take you to use a tank?

I meant headlight washer sorry, the pumps also swivel in the tank, you can spin them about 180 degrees without removing them. The feed for the headlight washers should be a clear reinforced tubing which fits perfectly over that quick disconnect

Depends on how much your in boost and what size injector your using. A full tank used to last me a couple months with my K04, I would top it off about once a month with the GTRS, and now I fill it about every 2 weeks when the dash warning comes on with the 3071R

Did you tap it, or are you using the headlight washer hose?

    I'm so lost right now.

You guys are running your cars on washer fluid?

Re: Have headlight washers? Rather have W/M injection?

    Yeah, it's cheaper than gasoline.

J/K. Injecting water and methanol into the air intake. Or in Shawn's case, straight methanol.

I want to do this so bad to my car but have no money right now. Does anybody have any logs on this showing the gains from before the mod to after the mod?

I run up to 28psi on my 3071R on pump gas, try doing that without meth

Yeah Id suggest using compression fittings/polyethylene tubing for permanent leak proofing and like shawn said the poly tubing doesnt harden like that cheap stuff.
