Cruise to Eurofest 2008 from Southern Westchester, NY

Ok, I'm not really trying to start a huge cruise here, its more of a "hop on the train if you want" type of thing. I already have between 3 and 5 other friends cruising with me on the way up to Eurofest, and so I figured thats a good start for a legit cruise, in case anybody else from the area wanted to join in. It may end up being a 12-15 person cruise, or maybe only a 7 or 8 person cruise. I just figure anything is better than driving alone, right? So like I said, if you can, or want, then hop on the train !

I know there might be 1 or 2 people coming up from NYC, maybe more, and you guys are more than welcome to join in as long as you get here on time, which may be a problem for you because its a little early, so I figured you may or may not come on the cruise.

Due To Recent Space Limitation, everyone has to register so Ryan knows how many spots he will be filling. Simply E-mail [email protected] with your Name,Car type, and City, and hopefully Ryan will be able to get more space over time. The cruise will be leaving at 9:15 SHARP because we now need to be there by 11 to be guarunteed a spot. There is room for 50 Audi's 50 VW's and 50 BMW's and 15 OTHER. EVERYONE PLEASE VISIT THE ORIGINAL EUROFEST THREAD, ORIGINAL POST, AND DOWNLOAD THE WAIVER OFF OF THE ORIGINAL POST/PAGE 9 AND SIGN IT BEFORE WE GET THERE, TO PREVENT WASTING TIME IN LINE HOLDING UP A LINE OF CARS, YES, EVEN IF YOU ARE AN ADULT. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YOU NEED A GUARDIAN'S SIGNATURE AS WELL SO DONT FORGET
I'll have extra's in my car, but if you're under 18 and you forget the signature then you're screwed, or you'll have to get someone on the cruise/at the event who is over 18 or 21(i forget which) to sign as your guardian, and that could take time/turn out a hassle.


EVERYONE PLEASE BE PREPARED AND HAVE YOUR GAS TANK FILLED THE DAY BEFORE SO WE DONT WASTE TIME.

TIME: From my area, its gonna take about an hour and 20 mins to get there, and even though the event starts at 10AM, I figure 9AM is a good time for everybody to be meeting up We WILL BE LEAVING AT 9:15 SHARP BECAUSE WE NOW NEED TO GET THERE BY 11 AM. I'll change the time to a little earlier if its necessary, but I dont want it so early that it discourages people from coming.

Who is invited... Everyone from anywhere is invited as long as you can make it on time. I'm expecting mainly audi's and vw's, because I talked to Ryan(Buegie), and the bmws have their own cruise, but we'd never turn away a bmw incase they were too out of place for the bimmer cruise. I think Buegie is putting this up on the vw forums because they dont have a cruise, so they could give us a healthy size.

Meet Place: Best Buy Parking Lot - Best Buy, 2458 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY, 10710 This is the first meet place, and only if anyone asks, we will take a brief stop at the beggining of 287 and/or before getting on either, to accomodate anyone who wants to meet there instead of Yonkers, incase its easier for them or something. Most of the people coming from the start are my friends from Yonkers or nearby, so this is a good place for everyone. Then about half way up we will be getting off the exits of those people up north to meet them and their crew for the rest of the ride.

Cruise Course: We'll be taking 684 North to I-84 East and then from there its local routes and side roads. Total Time: I'm estimating an hour and 30 mins from the starting point. If you are hopping on the train later, then lucky you.

People up North: I already a few people up North that want to join in. What I'm pretty sure we will do, is I will get the phone numbers from the people who want meet up north for the second half or whatever, and I'll call them the day before or something to organize a quick detour off of their 684 exit. We'll meet them at a gas station or something across the street from the exit/entrance ramp back to 684, and then we'll get right back on the road.

Directions: I'll get an address for the starting place when we get one, and then everyone can put it in mapquest along with the destination(159 South Street, Washington, CT 06793), to see the route we will be taking, incase we get separated or whatever.

If anyone thinks you may be cutting it close for time(getting to the starting spot - Best Buy) Please either wake up just 10 mins earlier, or take my phone number to call me if you'll be late, or both. The people up north will already have my number, and we'll be waiting for them anyway because they are the only reason that we're making a short stop off their exit.

Thats a good idea, I just dont really know how to get to bloomingdales lol. The only way I really know how to get to 684 is by 287. If I find out though, then I'll def. consider that.

Yea, thats completely understandable. I think what we're gonna do with the people up north is just whoever gives me their number and wants to meet up, we'll take a quick detour off their exit, and meet them (and their group, friends) across the street from the exit/entrance to 684 at a gas station or whatever, and then just get back on and continue the ride. So if you wanna just give me ur number thats probly what we'll do and I'll call you that morning or the day before or something to decide where we can meet.

Ok, I've decided the 1st meet place for the very beginning of the cruise. Since there are at least 7 of us (all my friends) coming from Yonkers, I'm gonna put the meet place as the Best Buy parking lot on central avenue in yonkers. It's the front side of the lot thats right next to central avenue, not the one around back. The address is:
Best Buy, 2458 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY, 10710 - for those other locals that wanna meet there with us. From there we'll take central avenue up to 287 which will bring us to the start of 684, where we can make a very brief stop if anybody requests to meet up there instead, if its easier for them than yonkers.
