Wich Coil Pack is the best ? What's the deal with Hitachi and REvision R, E etc...

    Hi,

I am in need of getting new coil pack for my 2004 A4 1.8tqtip. I was wondering if the dealer coil packs are revised version and will not fail anymore. I hope they have updated version are are they still selling the old one (same as what came on my 04).

Also, what's that deal about the hitachi and R, E or whatever revision that ECStuning is selling ?

You help is pretty much appreciated.

    Bo

I have a tip and APR 1+ with "E" revision coils and been running strong for about 800 miles now. Just my experience.

I believe that the version from the dealer should be the revised R versions. At least, when I called my dealer about them that's the ones they told me they had. I swapped all mine out to R's when I got my Stage 1 flash and haven't had a CP issue.

As for Hitachi E's, it seems like a lot of people here run them with no problems, so I'm sure they're fine too.

I've had 4 new R coils on my 2004 for over 2 year now, without problems.

The E coils, work, but seem to effect performance on some Audi's.

The R versions, are the newest ones, and so far seem to work and last the longest.
