    Brain storm

I just had an idea. I'm sorry if this is a repost or has been looked into already. If anyone has seen or would know how to do it I think this would be a pretty sweet idea.

I've been reading a lot on the different gauges, boost, oil pressure, A/F mix, etc. And there really isn't a stock looking location that one can be mounted.
The vent gauge looks about as close as one can get.

What If we could somehow make it so that the various readings were digital and in the notification center. you know, where the radio and outside temperature and the trip calculator is. This way you could have multiple readings all on one screen and you could change the readings using the same way you change the trip calculator.

The challenge is, can it be done?

I'd love too but I wouldn't know where to begin. I guess you'd need the various sending units and somehow get it to the ECU...

First off, the WHOLE point of a boost gauge...technically...is to have it all analog. Digital aint shit. When you have a analog boost gauge (with needle) you can observe how your engine is running, by just simply seeing how the needle is reacting, to both vacuum, boost, etc. By having a digital gauge you are defeating the purporse.

    Re: Brain storm

I only thought of this because of the boost gauge in the mirror. I'm pretty certain that you can get the same info regardless of the read out. The only problem with a digital read out would be if your electronics crap the bed.

    Re: Brain storm

there is something that is very similar to what you have been talking to but it is for Passats, I don't think there is any reason that it couldn't be done for our cars. The only down side is they have been having some trouble with them so far. check it out http://www.sincityeuros.com/phpBB3/v...st+gauge#p7489

i dont know, the digital gauge i got from Winston works great. i dont understand what you mean, the digital one reacts to vaccum, and boost as well. it actually reads vac so good that it will flutter between 19-20 when im idling. it seems if it sucked it would just kind of round up or down.....however, i am a total noob so if you could elaborate a little more as to why digital sucks so bad im all ears.
