Painting the interior????

Has anyone ever attempted this? I know people reupholster their interior with suede and such. Some even paint little trim pieces such as the shifter surround plate. But has anyone painted bigger interior parts such as the dash, center console, etc...? Any pics?

I did that on my old car. I did a black and white theme and it came out really good. It took a long a** time to do it but I went one piece at a time. I was thinking of doing it to my Audi this summer. What do you think? Im kind of bored of the plain tan/gray interior and need something fresh. Suggestions, comments....all are welcomed.

I agree to some extent. When people do it they make it look rice and use ridiculous colors such as neon green. But I was thinking just something subtle like a two tone black and a darker grey or something. I just dont like my gray/bronze interior. I was thinking of doing a whole interior swap to black but it cost way too much.

I would say skip.

Some of the S10 guys spray their dash in a thick primer to get rid of the wrinkles, but it almost always looks like shit after a month.

Thanks A4Rob for the link. Hmmm..I cant make up my mind. Maybe if I bought 1-2 used pieces off ebay and played around with them to see how they would turn out then I could make up my mind. If I only could have some pics of Audi's with a painted interior.

Yeah, winter here goes for about 5 months, spring 2, summer 2 months, and winter 3 months. Its sucks.

Is it possible to swap a different interior into B5's. Such as taking B6 or B7 seats and putting them into the B5?

hahaha. Really though, S10 guys know how to paint and do body work like no other. I spend hours and hours reading their DIY's on how to shave door handles, paint, bondo, and all kinds of stuff.

Yes. Using filler to fill in the wrinkles, sanding it down, then primering it, etc....

Can you use te center console from a 98 A4 in a 00 A4? The big piece with the ashtray in it. I sen pics and it looks like you can. Can someone confirm this. Thanks
