Pioneer Avic D3 on Amazon and $200 rebate

So, Pioneer is doing a $200 rebate on the D3 from "authorized sellers" and they list Amazon as authorized. Amazon has the D3 on their site, but as a sold through other companies. Does anyone know if that counts? It seems all other non-excluded "authorized sellers" have their prices on the D3 at no less than $800, whereas the Amazon partners have it for $600.

Anyone bought a D3 of an Amazon partner and had any luck with the $200 rebate?

Unfortunately, I don't think Pioneer will accept the rebate offer from an internet retailer. Just about the only retailers that they will accept have the price set at around ~800.

I heard somewhere that in the fine print for the $200 rebate, Best Buy and Circuit City were listed as retail stores NOT eligible for this rebate.

Yeah Best Buy isn't accepted, but go to a local store and have them price match Best Buy, then use the rebate on them. I'm also very curious about Amazon, we got 2 days

Only problem with Amazon is that they are sold by individuals. You would have a real hard time proving which retail store you bought the D3 from to get the $200 rebate. I wanted to do this as well, but found a guy who would be willing to sell me his 6 month old D3 with the S4 Metra kit for $600 shipped. Don't know if it's a good deal or not though.

With online transactions, how will we provide a legit receipt? I would take the risk as well.

Btw, did anyone know that the Metra kits are almost $100? Cheapest i could find was a $75 kit. WTF?

Is 6ave having a sale on them for 599 or is that their regular price? according to the fine print, if it's a sale, they won't process the rebate.

Yeah, my point is that Amazon says nothing about a salle and Amazon is also a listed approved dealer. Again, I think it's about 50/50 that I'll get the rebate processed... Still, $599 is a pretty good deal.

Wow, that's a great price, but they're not an authorized Pioneer dealer, so there's no way you'll get a $200 rebate from Pioneer there.

Right. I'm just saying that if the rebate is 50//50, that would be a great alternative! Anyways, it looks like a bunch of us are getting the Avic D3s at the same time, so hopefully we can help each other out and give suggestions for the install and tuning.

Unfortunately no... Crutchfield is also one of the stores where the rebate is not valid.
