Just wondering how you would go about hooking up an oil pressure gauge on a 1.8T engine?

Re: How do you hook up an oil pressure gauge?

I have a 01 1.8t and i put my gauge sensor in the same spot as the factory sensor on the oil filter adaptor. I used a dual sensor that reads pressure but also has an "idiot light" built in so it would turn the o.e. light in the dash. this sensor is just a fail safe in case i dont catch the gauge right off. Little peace of mind so to speak. I have heard that people are using just a pressure sensor for there gauge and grounding the factory wire to the engine to keep the light in the dash from flashing at them. Hope this helps out. Let me know if you need any pointers.

Re: How do you hook up an oil pressure gauge?

I have an autometer mechanical gauge I picked up. Just wondering what fittings and what length steel hose i'd need to install it? I was thinking of throwing it in temporarily to see what my pressure is. Or maybe installing it in the vent.
