    AWE Boost Gauge Comparison - Version 1 vs 2 (pics)

    Here is AWE Tuning's vent boost gauges, old version and new version:



    Version 1:



    Version 2:



    Differences I see in V2:

    - "Boost" instead of "Turbo"
    - Gauge reads to 30PSI as opposed to 25Lbs
    - Little square for the fluctuate point at 0
    - Reads in PSI as opposed to Lbs
    - Point markings are the same all around, V1 has closer marks under vacuum

    I had ordered the new one directly from AWE but it was on backorder for a while so I ordered the old one from Matrix. I was going to cancel my order from AWE but procrastinated and sure enough as soon as I ordered the old one, the new one from AWE was sent to me. So I'll be selling one of them once I decide which I like better.

    So let's hear your opinions! I'm not 100% sure which one I like better but I'm leaning towards the new version.

    I believe they have "improved" the lighting to better match the OEM gauges, so you may want to check that out before you decide.

    I like the second myself... but I'd go with whichever matches the interior lighting better. Ever considered MC Hammered's Podi? That thing is sweet! Perfect interior match.

    Yes I've seen it but I don't like how it blocks the speedometer, even if it only blocks 0-20mph. plus i think the vent position looks more oem. anyway this thread is about the awe vent boost gauges not podi.

    i still like my Version 1 better, but then again i don't need the >25 lbs of boost. i don't mind the brightness at night either, im pretty used to it

    girls know what a turbo is, but some are confused what boost does lol

    what about the ecs omori one? I like that one better, I have the bar gauge if it matters. Isn't v.2 no longer omori but a diff brand?

    V2 for sure. mainly because it reads to 30psi. which i really want..

    and it states boost. instead of turbo. just bothers me for some reason that it would say you're running 20lbs of turbo all the time, lol.. but now, you'll be running 20psi of boost. muuuuuch better

    most users won't be running more than 25psi. the select few that do would want v.1

    I'm a fan of my v.1, but then again, I'll be needing the 30psi gauge in the near future. . .

    Blocking a vent looks more OEM? Can't agree with you there. But like you said, this thread is about the AWE gauges. And any boost gauge is better than none!

    the v.1 is made by omori and has very even lighting and very good gauge. The v.2 is from what i hear is made by someone else since omori is out of biz.

    Both look very good, but before you sell one light them up at night and decide which one you like better. having 30psi is nice option for down the road though..

    yeah i may need it in the future. is there anyway to light these up with out actually installing them in my car? maybe hook them up to a battery or something?

    Well... they finally got the unit right... PSI instead of LBS!!! I hate it when people say, "I'm running 25 pounds of boost". That doesn't even make sense! It should be, "I'm running 25 pounds per square inch (or just say "psi") of boost".

    Hopefully v.2 doesn't rattle like mine does. The bezel and the glass are not set right and they rattle when downshifting. Not to be confused with buzzing because it used to do that but the fuel filter fixed it.

    kinda off topic but how much vacuum do you guys read when coasting down the highway?

    I got mine today and the lighting in the gauge seems brighter than the stock instrument cluster. Not sure what v1 looked like.
