FINALLY ! I just retrofitted xenons **Pics**

after waiting about a month since i ordered the xenons from jens, i finally got around to getting them installed. I took them to reflex tuning in merrimack New Hampshire, brought it in at 11 and it was finished at 2... Big thanks to them, clean fitment looks fantastic and they also put the trial Revo software on there.. kicks ass btw!

lol wasnt too bad , paid 700 or 750 shipped. only minor thing is it had a slight scuff thats very hard to see on the left corner of the headlight.. no biggie for me.

BTW I have the same headlight, and found out that the E-Codes is actually whiter than the NA xeon lights....but i might be wrong...

Just a question, when u replace the halogen headlights for the ones with the projectors (HID) do you have to recode the car?

I know bmw's have to im not sure about audi's and i want to get the headlights with projectors...

yeah you do or else the lighting will be incorrect. If i remember correctly the high beam will only flash instead of stay on.

yeah, euro slines from Jens.. has the clear caps on the side in the housing and the chrome bulb that lights up amber.. its realy a weird color though ... like a puke orange. lol..

Jens is "lowesta4" on these boards. He's got a TON of orders and the last I talked to him was very backed up, but he's a great guy to do business with.

Yeah, I never thought much of it, but now that you mention it, maybe a little more on the yellow side. IIRC, mine are Phillips Silver Vision bulbs. You can always swap them out for something else.

All B7 OEM xenon lights, at least in the US, are bi-xenon, meaning the same bulb is used for lows and highs -- a mechanical means in the projector assembly allows the upward spread of light for high beams. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't know of an assembly that was not set up as such. Here is the coding information for Central Electronics.

They only come in bi xenon or bi xenon with adaptive ..
"Step 3a (XENON):Change the Software Coding to "01021" and click the [Do It!] button to recode this module. If you want to revert back to the original coding, use "01023"."

You can find more info in the $20 dollar vag come thread below. You can figure out how to do the seat belt chime delet and auto windows and locks.. not all codes will be for you car but they all worked for mine :)

I've got a B7 SE on order with Convenience (bi-xenons) -- U.S. version, since I'll be in the States.

My local Audi service manager here in Poland told me that the U.S.-spec B7 halogens don't meet EU standards, but the bi-xenons do. I've been wondering why that is. Could just be that the U.S. halogens don't have the Euro-required range adjustment system. Or there could be a different beam pattern.

OK, so regarding bi-xenons... possible color temperature aside, looking at the beam pattern of the European-spec bi-xenons above, what's the pattern difference compared with the U.S.-spec bi-xenons? Like, I notice the Euro's above have a bit of a bump-up on the right half of the pattern. Do the U.S. bi-xenons?

Marek, my US-spec bi-xenons do have the same pattern... at least it looks to be so from the pictures here.

I would assume that the halogen US-spec headlights are not EU compliant because they do not have the level adjustments as the Euro models do. That feature is required in all EU counties. The Nissan Nano I rented in Munich two months ago had auto adjusting halogen headlights. I love it.

Yeah... I retrofitted European headlights into both of our U.S.-spec VWs... Jetta 3 and Passat B4. Amazingly better beam patterns.

I then put leveling motors into both cars, and European switches with the leveling controls. Fun!

Can't say I've used them much... they're designed for when your trunk is very heavy, and you don't want to blind oncoming traffic.

Like you say, leveling has been required in Europe for quite some time now. And the requirement for HID/xenons is for auto-leveling, like at least the U.S. Audis have.

The EU also requires high-pressure headlight washers with HID/xenons, which unfortunately my B7 won't have...

I'm glad to hear the U.S. bi-xenons have a similar beam pattern to the European ones...

Does anybody have instructions on how to install the bi-xenon projectors headlights. Like removing bumpers and all that.

this is a good walk through that I found very helpful. showed the install of the xenons.. wires to run. This walkthrough did the install w/o taking the bumper off.. check it out.

Take your bumper off. You're making a big mistake if you think it'll be easier to leave it on.

that makes zero sence, you unscrew all the screws needed to take off the bumper anyway, why not just take it off to give you more room?
