Yeah here's the thing though, you don't know what the hell your listening to. I just dont understand why they can't make one that shows you the name of the song and not just a playlist folder and number. Gets kind crazy when your trying to figure out what track 88 out of 1000 is.

Seeing the name of the song is something that you think you need but honestly you dont. I never looked at my ipod to see what the name of the song was, I knew it in the first 2 seconds its playing, or knew where the songs were because I just knew the order of the music on my ipod. I honestly hate the stupid things, Jobs can keep them for all I care.

I had my Phatbox in my Jetta for years it was 20gb and I had 5000 songs on it. I made directories and had my music in them. I could find any song on that whole thing no problem. You initially load the music and it takes a while to get used to where everything is, but after a while you will know where everything is. Then as you add more directories and music every once in a while you will just know where the new music is etc. The phatbox was amazing and I totally miss it. I'm going to buy the cable and install it into my Audi and run that.

This is a pretty cool product tho, I like that a lot. I already have the phatbox so I'm just gonna get the cable, but the cable alone is more expensive then that whole setup is. Makes me wonder...

I guess we're on different ends of the spectrum, I've had a loaded 20gb mp3 player for years and I know if the song I'm looking for is at the begining ,middle or end but still your brain capacity while limitless, for most people won't bring them to memorize the track number of 5000 songs. I have my favorites, but when I want to listen to something different, I usually do a alphabetical search and if that option isn't available then its listening to the beginning of a lot of songs to find the one I want. Its just an inconvience, I would rather do without.

Re: Upgrade Your Factory CD-PLAYER to MP3 DIGITAL-CHANGER

    I must be weird.

I regularly will get a new album and load it onto my (insert mp3 player here) BEFORE I have memorized the complete: Artist Name-Song Title-Track Number.
When I listen to that album for the very first time I am always having to check the titles of the songs that I might want to find again individually.

I guess your right, how would anyone find the info display useful...

Re: Upgrade Your Factory CD-PLAYER to MP3 DIGITAL-CHANGER

Too much of a PITA to memorize all the song tracks and folders for me. I think I would never listen to more than a few gigs of music and would be constantly having to manage the thing.

Give me my ipod and my dice and I'm fine. Although, this is 1/4 the price and it's got to be better than CD's.

Give it a try... it'll probably only work for a year anyway :-)

Depends what year and radio HU you have, B7 07'> A4 comes with SymphonyII+ which is quadlock (12 pin), previous models come with mini iso (8 pin), hope this helps!!!

Re: Upgrade Your Factory CD-PLAYER to MP3 DIGITAL-CHANGER

It's more like I have had my phatbox for 3 years now and you get so used to where all the music is you can find it after a while. It's like streets in a large city. You couldn't work for a map company or anything, but you know every little back street to get to places the fastest under any traffic or time of day circumstance. I'm just sayin it's like that. You get used to where everything is and as you add more slowly it's easy to remember where things are.

I'm not saying I memorized 5000 songs in a week. Just after having it for so long I can pinpoint almost any song/genre or group within a few clicks of the button and never have to take my eyes off the road. Plus the phatbox talks to me If I really need to check I hit the scan button and it reads the MPS ID tags and tells me the artist and track title if I really wanna know.

I do like that Symphony pic posted above thats sweet. I just think that Ipods are pretty ghey and not really ment for a car I guess. Their for pimple faced kids who sit on bus's on their way to high school... Thats just me tho.
