BAD Vibration + CEL just after HIGHWAY FUN

    Hi,

My car has giac Fx k03 + 380cc, noting else. It's an 04 1.8TQTip. It's boosting real nice this morning, with plenty of power. While having some highway fun later on today, my car started to vibrate (engine) inconsistently. THen a CEL came on Flashing. About 1 or 2 miles later, I had a plain CEL. When the car is stopped and I rev the engine, it does rev very fine. However, when I put load on the engine, trying to forward or reverse, it studder badly, looks like it's shoking. No black smore or smoke at all. No weird sound.

someone has a little idea what must have gone wrong ?

Do you have a boost gauge?
Are you sure you havent forced yourself into limp mode?

it could be something as simple as a coilpack on it's way out.

    Hi,

If I forced myself into limps mode, would'nt the car be running good until a certain RPM and then shut itself down ? Does the flashing then solid cel makes you thinks it has gone to limp mode ?

    Thanks

In that case, is there a way to check if I don't have vag ?

    Thanks

couple options. Buy new Coilpacks and pop 'em in. Or find someone local that is willing to let you swap around some coilpaks to see if it helps.

a good way to check for a bad coil pack is to unplug corresponding coilpacks and injectors, start with cyl 1 and move up to 4, and eventually by making each cylinder completely dead you will find the bad coilpack because it will seem like its running better when one set of coilpack/injector is unplugged.... you are getting the stutter vibration because your getting fuel and no spark.. so if you eliminate the fuel to the cylinder with bad spark then it will smooth out the operation a little.. atleast enough for you to know which coilpack is bad.

If a coilpack goes Wrong, would'nt it shutter when I rev the car at IDLE ? Caus if you read my first post, the car revs fine at idle...

you would think so, but you will really only see the stutter under load
