    I found a mysterious button

OK so i was cleaning out my car today and i noticed a button that i have never noticed before, its on the b-piliar on the drivers side, knida close to the bottom, since my car lacks a owners manual i have no idea what it does, however i think it has something to do with the alarm. Does anyone know what i am talking about? ( I would search it but i doubt anything would come up for "strange button")

yeah it's for the motion detectors for when the car is locked. like if want you lock your car with your pet in it you turn it off.

Re: I found a mysterious button

it's the interior audio/motion detectors. if you leave your windows/sunroof cracked in the summer too you have to disable them. unless you decrease the sensitivity of the alarm from 100 to say 50-ish using vag-com, it'll go off just from neighborhood kids screaming or even the wind passing by

It activates a secret additional bank of 4 cylinders in your car. Instantly turns your 4 cylinder into an 8 cylinder.

    Sorry couldn't resist.

You will know it is active when the red light near the drivers door lock button stays on until you lock the car.

Another mysterious button is at the top of the B5 forum page. DIY, FAQ, etc.. Try that one out.

Not mean if it helps someone learn. There is a lot more to the site than just the first page of posts. There are thousands of informative threads here but you'll have to dig to get to them.
