Re: arm rest up or down? How do u rock it?

Down. If it is up I hit my elbow on it shifting into 2nd or 4th. Seems like half the time I put it up it pops open at the worst possible time spilling my checkbook, car charger, and all my useless clutter all over the back of the car. When down it just can't go into pinata mode.

i keep it down. relax my arm and it is easier to shift(in my own opinion) also if i have it up and put a drink there i will forget the drink is there and put it down. yes it happened before and it sucks.

Re: arm rest up or down? How do u rock it?

there's actually 3 positions, not just 'up' or 'down'

i keep mine in the 30* down position. if it was exactly parallel to the ground it gets in the way and if it's perpendicular to the ground (straight up) it just looks goofy. i only drink water anyway so I could give two sh*ts if it spills. I've driven in a '97 a4 without the armrest, and (despite not using or leaning on it) it just feels odd not having it there

At first I always had it down. Then I tried one day with it up and it made it easier for me to shift. It feels better too.

Removed, but when I had it in the car it was always up because it gets in the way of getting the arm in the right position for shifting quickly thru the gears.

If you take yours out I'll pay shipping for it to arrive at my door.

Mine is always down. Playing/AutoX it's up, but the lid hinge is busted so it falls off if it's up. The 30* position is uncomfortable.

I wanna make a flushmount Zune receptical in the center, and have the lid be able to cover it so nobody gets any bright ideas about how much they need it, more than I do.
