Eibach springs+pro damper struts pic request, please

found an affordable kit, but it only offers 1.2 inch drop all around.... not too stiff which is great living in Michigan.. but I'm worried if that drop is too little... anybody has pics? will be apreciated... thanks!

That is a hell of a price. Mine was over five hundred. But the ride is as close to stock as possible and the drop is perfect. Not to mention the springs were designed specifically for the shocks. Check out Matt Devo over on AW. He is running this setup as well. Really I don't see why more people don't.

The only thing I can find from Eibach for my car (04 A4 1.8T Quattro Sedan) is the springs or their coilover kit...they have applications for their dampers and pro-kit listed for FWD, and the avant Quattro but not the sedan quattro for some reason? Shame really...

BEFORE YOU BUY MEASURE THE GAP YOU HAVE ALREADY AND ESTIMATE WHERE ITS SUPPOSED TO SETTLE! all cars are different and it will not always settle as perfect as someone elses. shit, i know a guy whos got a 4inch gap on his b5 stock suspension, which is not only not normal, but its huge, and a 1.2inch drop would do nothing for him.

ryan, yes it does. the springs have different spring rates for the different weight distributions of the FWD vs quattro.

I would not run FWD on a quattro

But quattro spings on a FWD is fine

Because of the rear differential on a quattro the extra weight requires stiffer rear springs....that is why it would be OK to put quattro springs on a FWD.

Which is why you would want to install softer FWD springs on a quattro.

This was brought up in another thread, the springs have different listings for FWD/Quattro but the struts are the same. This goes for other manufacturers too, I believe.

yeah i know but i'm just wondering what exactly would be affected if i put FWD springs on my quattro, lots of people saying that they personally wouldn't do it because of the spring rates, but i'm asking what would happen if one were to do it

^i already answered this. putting the FWD setup on a quattro will have a different drop due to the different spring rates. this is due to the weight distribution being different between the FWD and quattro system. it will probably also affect handling in some way too, once again because of the different weight distribution.

could you do it? sure. would i personally recommend it? not really. i mean, im not sure how much thie eibach kit cost but H&R and bilstien sport setup ran me only about $650 which is pretty cheap. you can probably find springs cheap in the classifieds too.

i've decided to order it and try. it cost me $550 shipped to canada which is a pretty good deal considering how shipping costs to canada for something of that weight would be at least $100. also chose it because the drop with H&R is pretty low, and we get a fair bit of snow up here in canada so i thought the eibach set up would be slightly more practical.
if it doesn't work look out for an eibach pro-kit set up in the classifieds in about 2-4 weeks!
