gtrs limp? or wastgate? or MBC?

Okay, i'm having some serious surging/hickup issues in boost or under heavy load. t3/t4-tune / 580cc 65+psi / GTRS

It will hit 16- or more PSI and it can hold the PSI at WOT (i never go above 5k rpm for obvious reasons right now). But it hickups a lot. (hickups are kinda like baby backfires)

When I slowly ease on the throttle the boost needle will bounce back and forth a little during the hickups at first i thought my 2nd o2 had crossed wires or was disconnected, but i put in another o2 - open air - and it didn't help.

I have a MBC, is it possible i can be in limp mode? It ran real hard previously on this same exact set up at a lower fuel psi, but I went through a few changing of my injectors, and now it's giving me all these problems. (waiting on new vagcom to come in next week)

probably check it w/ my mbc, see what happens. i think you're mbc can't handle it.

So you are running smaller injectors now with a base fuel pressure of 65psi?


What fuel pump are you running?

still running 580's and yes stock pump at 65psi... but this exact system was running very good weeks prior to testing different injectors... - i'm sure creech will have a fix or show how i didn't gap correctly again...

you think the fuel pump could of went bad? i'm 2 mins from ordering a gss-342?

But were you running a lower fuel pressure before?


The fuel pump isn't bad, your just pushing it to a point where it has really bad flow.

Higher fuel pressure = lower flow

Most pumps flow drop like a rock when they get close to 80psi and at this point your running 81psi fuel pressure.

yes... it was running better at 50psi instead of 65+... but when i take it down to that level now, i just get more hickups-sooner.
