Hey guys, thanks for taking a few minutes to read this. Let me just say I have searched not only the forums here but also the web looking for an answer before posting here but haven't found exactly what I was looking for, hopefully someone here can help.
First off, 02/3.0L/Quattro/60k miles
I'm replacing the hazard/blinker relay that lives behind the Hazard Lights button in the center of the dash. My blinkers and hazards work fine and no bulbs are loose or blown. However, after I complete a turn and the blinker goes off, the relay clilcks rapidly for 5 to 10 seconds. My turn signal lights don't illuminate while it's doing this but it's annoying as hell.
After reading all the posts about turn signals and hazards, I decided a relay replacement would be the easiest and cheapest courose of action.
Now, as you can see in the pictures, I got the bezel off just fine using the two small flat head screwdrivers that come in that little red hard plastic case of 5 screwdrivers that you buy to work on comupters.
I can also pop the actual red hazard button cover off too. However, the actual hazard button with the three red LED's and it's case don't seem to budge.
I managed to get the bezel off with absolutely no breakage or damage and since I am not entirely sure what part comes off next, I didn't want to risk it. I don't know if I have to remove those two screws on the left and right sides of the console itself or if I just need to pop out the hazard button housing somehow.
Thanks again for taking a look, hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction.
