    Flat black valve cover?

    Very nice!

I'm going to sand mine down and rattle can it with some high-temp paint.

Re: Sneak peek of what came back from powdercoating

The VVT chain tensioner thing took a crap when I took a rip at 26psi last week.

Since the valve cover had to come off I thought I would swap on the new one hence the powdercoating.

I totally forgot about the shortened work week due to Easter though. Driving my Explorer around sucks.

That my stock AMB mani that got a makeover. I'll rock that until next year and then have a new manifold made and upgrade to the 80mm VDO throttle body I got from Issam.

The VC is the smooth one they sell on Vortex. Swapping to that one sure gave me a lot more clearance between the turbo and the engine due to the lack of all those stupid edges.

Re: Sneak peek of what came back from powdercoating

IIRC I paid $100 shipped from Rodney @ JRC Motorsport on Vortex for the cover.

It isn't 100% plug and play as the holes for the coilpacks are too small for the ones we use. You will have to grind out the inside to enlarge them a bit and then cut a notch for the coilpack tabs. Or you can cut the tabs off hf the coilpack.

Re: Sneak peek of what came back from powdercoating

For those wondering about the valve cover, it's a valve cover from the european non-turbo version of the 1.8T. I have a link somewhere around here for them, if I find it I'll update this post with it...

$300 to do the valve cover, intake mani in flat black and all my intercooler pipes in gloss black

Too bad the intake mani I'm only going to run until next year and then it will be replaced by a larger custom made plenum unit.

I might have the TB coated too or polished to break up the darkness a bit.

Wait until you see the last piece of the puzzle I have in store for the engine bay setup.
