Funny Smell just after WOT...[confused]

I have noticed this a few different times and was wondering if anyone else either noticed this or has ever had this. Whenever I go WOT shortly after I get a funny smell come through my vents when I have the climate control on. It lasts for a just a few seconds and then goes away. I have had this happen on the highway and from a light with the engine warm (no WOT when cold engine). I have a 2006 A4 2.0T with 28k on it. Any help would be appreciated...

Check for oil leaks.

It could be steering wheel fluid or any other type of fluid. I had that on my 2005 and it was leaking.

It might be a bad PCV valve. I know that when mine went bad I got a faint smell of oil inside my car after I took off from a stop or went WOT. Like unleaded20t said, check for oil leaks on top your motor near your filler cap and if you have some time on your hands check for a blown pcv.

yea i have a funny smell in my vents too...and my car only has 2600 miles

can you guys describe your smell? mine lasts the whole time i have my climate control on. Ill check for PCV issues tomorrow when the sun comes up

Mine smells like fertilizer once in a while when having the A/C on 'low' fan speed. I remembered one time when I parked next to a curb with fresh grass and fertilizer briefly to jog down directions (and with the air on) I'd inherited a great deal at the time and I immediately rolled all my windows down and drove for at least a mile. Ever since, the smell has NOT gone away and is intermittent once every now and then. I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, but that's how mine smells.
I just clocked 3,000 miles up to date.

I also have this problem sometimes after i go "WOT." I always dismissed it as just a coincidence, or that it was suppose to happen, but now next time i take it in for a check up ill ask the dealer about it.

i checked my engine today and have no oil leaks...i hardly ever use my A/C maybe thats the problem

i think it could be early pcv failure that's not visible yet. i get the same burning/skunky type of smell after wot

if its a rotten egg smell then its most likely your catalytic converter, but that usually happens on cars 5+ years old

I've smelled the same thing on mine and my girlfriends old passat had hte same issue.

Just a quick question, when u push the car is it with A/C on or off? If its on, it could be the evaporator too, but my overall experience is some type of oil leak in the engine.
