    Re: headlight removing

You dont need to remove front bumper.Take out three torx bolts and take screw driver to inner part of ligh towards the grill carefully pry out piece that snaps into the side(will see what I mean when you get to that point. Then what I did was heat up seal on lens and pry off.May take a while but you dont risk drilling light or breaking shit.Good luck its not that hard.I did this to my first a6 4 years ago and also to my present one.Plus when you get the lens off you can customize it more by painting the inside or what ever the hell you want.

well mycase, I found out I have to replace that bracket....(hit and run victim here) so I guess I do need to pull the bumper to do it or just remove that bolts from the bottom? where torx are broken.

Are you replacing head light? My 98 didnt have to take off front bumper nor on my o1.Only three torx.Take a look at your first way to do it,were they show bumper coming off you will see a white piece near radiator that is were the headlight clips in, along with the torx. That is were I said you need to pry away were it snaps in.

so I guess I don't have to remove the bumper!
