Anybody tried spliiting there wheels and polishing the lips themselves? Im thinking of doing this as it will cost me $150 to polish each lip professionally.

    Thanks!

    Re: Iforged ?

Why would you do that? Polished lips from iForged are no charge. They only charge for colored, chrome or brushed lips

    Re: Iforged ?

Why would you take them apart to polish the lips?

Go spend $50 and buy a Mother's Powerball and go to town on them, you won't be dissapointed.

Because I dont want the polish to eat my the clearcoat to eat the paint on the wheels. Plus the lips are somewhat pitted. So Im pretty sure my lips are not clearcoated.......what polishes are you guys using with mother powerball?

It's metal polish, not hydrochloric acid, the clearcoat will be fine.

Just tape off the painted part of the wheels and you'll be fine. If the wheels are a little pitted, get the yellow powerball:

This is what I have for polishing my wheels (and anything else metal for that matter) and it is AMAZING. Honestly, I can't shower enough praise on this product, it's awesome.

yo thanks capt!!! it says the kit comes with sandpaper? i really hope my lips are not clearcoated. Grka4 said he did not request it when he purchased the wheels.

Did the yellow powerball take care of the pits? also did u use the red powerball along with metal poilish to finish it off?

Oh yah should i do this outside?

    Re: Iforged ?

The yellow ball is designed for pitted metal. Of course, it's effectiveness depends greatly on how deep said pits are. I just use the yellow one (don't even own a red one) and it comes out very nice. I'm polishing my beltline trim with it right now and it works like a charm.

DEFINITELY use it outside though, the ball sprays the metal polish all over the place when it spins. Wear crappy clothes too!
