I was at McKenna a couple of weeks ago and they had one in the showroom. Not sure if you can drive it but they may still have the S5.

I wouldn't do business with a dealership that lets a couple of "ballers" go for a joyride in a S5 without even having a salesperson come along.

lmao is this thread a joke..i walked in one weekend and asked to test drive and they had no problem letting me.. they didnt even see my ride..(which is tricked) he asked what i drove i said i just recentley got a 07 audi and looking for more power but not sure if i wanna wait for the new s4 etce etc he had no problem grabbing the keys

They probably don't think you're serious enough. I was with a friend at BMW of Manhattan yesterday (he wanted to drive an E92 M3) and they told him that they only had one in stock and weren't giving test drives. So he told the guy to check his name and sure enough they saw that he bought an '06 M3 and handed him the keys immediately.

Went to Penske today drive/order my S5 and guess what ? No S5 to drive , they did have an A5 but they would not let anyone test drive it. Strike 3 for me.

For the comment above: when you tell the sales person your lease is up in two months , that should show them you're serious. I mean cmon really????? How many hoops do you have to jump through to just test drive a car.

I know the guy that bought the recent one @ Walter's, and he has deposits on 2 more for his business, but does not need one of them, if you are serious about buying one, I can save you the months of waiting, and transfer the depoit over to you.

I did not drive his, but rode in it, and man that thing sounds mean.

Oh my, this is getting heated and as always there are 2 sides to every situation.

Fact: A5/S5s are in high demand and limited supply.

As such, almost every dealership in SoCal has no inventory on-hand since every car that comes in is pre-sold and they are taking orders and deposits at pretty good rate still

In terms of test-drives, another poster was right. There were demo vehicles provided by Audi. Some of you guys and gals must have missed it because these vehicles were in demo status for at least 3 months. Most dealerships will be hesitant to hand-out test-drives on this car because 1) the eventual customer of the car will not want the car to be test-driven a lot 2) most salespeople feel that there is no sale at all and no immediate sale.
