    Trying new plugs

    I have done my searching, and found nothing on the subject. I was thinking about trying out some denso iridium plugs for my 99 1.8t. Some guys i run autocross with told me they were good for turbo engines. I have found that you guys seem to stick with NGK and bosch, and i have no problems with those brands just wanted some of your thoughts before i decide to try them.

    For Stock Cars - .032" gap:
    NGK BKR6E
    Autolite 3923
    Denso Iridium IK20

    For Chiped Cars - .028" gap:
    NGK BKR7E
    Autolite 3922
    Denso Iridium IK22

    I disagree about the BKR7E's for chipped cars. I tried those with K04/PC16 and the car ran like crap. I went back to BKR6E's. So I would recommend BKR6E's gapped at .028.

    I would stay away from any Iridium plug their good for longevity not performance.

    I ran Denso Iridium's in mine ('99 APR 1.0 bar) for a while and I'm happier with BKR7E's in summer at .028 and BKE6E's at .028 during winter. I have heard Denso's can run a little too hot for our chipped cars.

    It's funny, you're not the only one with this experience, yet so many others have no issues. I even use 0.032" gap on my BKR7Es and it runs fantastic. I don't doubt the bad experience, I just find it strange.

    cool, ill probly just stick with the BR6E's and gap them to .028 and see how that does. I ran the denso's in my old mkIII jetta, but didnt really notice any difference.

    034 runs a step hotter bosch plugs on their high hp cars. I've tried them and personally think they are the best so far and I've tried alot of plugs.

    How often do you guys change your Copper NGK plugs? 5K, 10K, 15K

    Anyone worried about stripping out there threads in the block?

    5k. I use a little anti-seize on the threads when I install the plugs.

    i usually change my plugs between 5 and 10k. Just dont over tighten them and put some anti-seize on the threads. Oh and also some dielectric grease on the fitting for the coil helps them come off easier next time you change them and keeps moisture out.

    Bosch F6DTC.

    I had the BKR7Es and the car had a rough idle in the winter. the Bosch plugs run great in warm or cold.
