    Is the stage II software different from the stage I? It looks like the only difference is the exhaust and snub mount but the software is the same as stage I.

    Stage 2 is a different file, which is a more aggressive tune for a bit more power. You have to have exhaust (and intake maybe) to do the file for obvious reasons.

    I'm not positive, but this is how I think it goes:
    Stage 1 = chip (91, 93, 100 octane or whatever)
    Stage 2 = chip + the stage 2 file, and exhaust
    Stage 2+ = chip + the stage 2 file, exhaust, and an intake or test pipe or anything else.

    I think if you have a chip, exhaust, and intake, you still need to get flashed with the "stage 2" file before considering yourself stage 2 or stage 2+.

    Somebody may correct me though

    SO i JUST TALKED TO MY LOCAL APR DEALER. tHE APR STAGE TWO IS NOT A MORE AGGRESSIVE FILE. iT'S EXACTLY THE SAME AS STAGE ONE EXCEPT THAT IT ELIMINATES THE CEL IF YOU HAVE A TEST PIPE. iF YOU LOOK AT THE HP/TQ QUOTES ON THE APR WEBSITE THEY ARE THE IDENTICAL BETWEEN THE TWO STAGES.

    APR doesn't make a more aggressive file for the a4 application. the transverse, all major tuners have an aggressive file i believe. but like others said, apr only makes one tune, and an extra file for test pipe delete. i think revo has a stage 2 option for a4

    This is an uncorrected dyno numbers. It is wheel horse power. I am running Stage 2 with test pipe software. This is for really i have the print out I will scan it soon and post it!

    They both, APR and GIAC, have a 30 money back guarantee. Which is essentially a 30 day trial, but you have to pay for it up front.

    When people refer to stage 2 this only means they have a chip,intake,TP & exhaust.
    There is no Stage 2 Software remaps from APR. There is however a remap for fuel pump.


    OP 213WHP is a good result I only have 200WHP from APR KO4:(

    Well I learn something new everyday. Not all dyno's are the same. Which is weird b/c you'd think it'd be a relatively simple mathmatical formula to calculate hp/tq.

    My dyno pulls were done on a dyno jet 4x4. I made more power than a 1.8t K04!

    im pretty sure the revo stage 2 file is more aggressive than the stage 1. i remember running more boost and a tiny bit more timing as well..

    If you are refering to my KO4 its on a 2.0T

    APR does make a more aggressive files..... but not for stages, only on the octane level, and of course for the feul pump.

    (NOT RUDE) He knows, but he's telling you that you made more HP then his 2.0T K04 did (200WHP). Which is probably higher output then a 1.8T. Pretty impressive.

    Let me mention 1 word about dynos, they are not all the same. For example...below are common numbers for a B7 A4. The final numbers are very different based on dyno, but the gains are all nearly identical. About +30 hp and + 60 ft/lbs at the wheels. (whp/wtq)


    Dyno.................Stock ..........GIAC X + Exhuast

    dynodyamics......154/173.........183/230
    dynojet.............166/185.........198/246
    mustang............176/189.........210/251

    Proving you cannot compare numbers from 1 dyno to another, and you cannot simply multiply by 1.28 to reach crank hp/tq numbers.

    Yes i saw his post but i dont think it was on a dyno jet dyno. So it is hard to compare. Also the weather conditions play a factor.

    Goped -- do you have a baseline (bone stock)? Comparing your baseline against any subsequent dyno sessions is what is valuable -- that is what is going to tell you exactly how much power you picked up and where throughout the RPMs you picked it up.

    Seeing these dyno graphs are depressing...... Does anyone make a upgraded turbo kit for the B7 2.0T? Im planning on selling my Z and getting a 2.0T quatrro Avant. But god this thing seems like its slow.

    APR Has a Stage 3 kit in development but it is top secret. But it will be nuts dynoing around 390 WHP give or take how it is tuned!

    ^^You can get that Stage 3 kit but only for GTI's and A3's

    Cant wait till APR comes out with their Stage 3 Kit for our cars.
