    Replacing concert II

Well, I know there has been many discussions what to replace the original player in the B7.
I would like to know, is and which aftermarket players is there that can replace the concert II with the functions like 4 speaker low output, sub-out, plays mp3 and that works with the steering wheel controls and it's possible get the same information on the FIS as with the concert!? I know about rns-e and etc...I don't want to change from a single DIN to the double DIN player. Please, share you knowledge with me that would make me a happy panda . Yes, and one more thing... the aftermarket player should have the button lights as red(like the concert has).

I guess I'm quite "picky" with this.

    Re: Replacing concert II

Wow coming from the car audio world...you are kind of picky...but not too bad. Just about any mid range after market head unit will have all of the options that you said ("4 speaker low output, sub-out, plays mp3"). The first problem comes in with the steering wheel controls. Can it be done? Why sure. The question is are you willing to pay an extra 75 to 100 bucks for the unit plus the install (which is difficult). Connecting the wires is the easy part for this. The big problem is that coming off of the unit is a RF eye. This has to be positioned so that it can aim at the after market radio, but not look like s#%t and still work decently. Well you say "I don't want to change from a single DIN to the double DIN player." Well the first thing wrong with that statement is that your radio is a double din to begin with. So if you put a single din in which is a "normal size after market radio" (smaller then your stock radio) you will have alot of plastic showing to take up the space. I would think that is why I think just about everyone after market radio I have seen pics of on AZ is a double din, because it just looks so much better then a single din.

If you can get past all of that garbage and decide that YES I still want to do it. The only radios manufactures that I know of that have red lights are Eclipse and Kenwood (Kenwood's are green from the factory but you can change them to red in the setting of the radio). Both of these manufactures make single and double din units.

    Re: Replacing concert II

Well... first, concert II is an single DIN head unit. So that's the reason I wouldn't like to go through all the hustle changing from a single DIN to a double DIN. The concert III is a double DIN head unit.
So, I just wanted to ask you guys if any of you have or know a single DIN head unit that "have" all the stuff that I would like it to have!? Of course almost all has "4 speaker low output, sub-out, plays mp3" but the steering wheel function and FIS is the hard part

Is there a module I can get to retain the steeringwheel controls.
