New guy checking in

Just wanted to introduce myself. I picked up my first Audi three weeks ago...a 2007 S6. Picked it up CPO from my local dealer with just 8k miles on it. The car is absolutely amazing and i'm enjoying getting to know it. I haven't even come close to exploring the "bottom of the well" performance wise yet, but I'm hoping to take it to the track later this spring.

So far, the only thing I've done to it is hardwire in a V1 radar / laser detector. The prior owner turned it in with a set of Blizzak's (handy for PacNW winters). I'm thinking about a set of wheels for my summer tires (maybe 20's ??).

Anyway, just wanted to say "hello"...great community you have here.

That is a beautiful car! The only thing you really need to do is clear out those ambers. I think 20's would necitate a drop, but other than that you can keep it stock unless the stereo isn't loud enough for you :) Maybe some laser blinders if you got a heavy foot.

Beautiful car. I bought a 2006 A6 recently but wish I could have bought S6 instead.

Just a note: I am really not a big fan of these stock rims on S6. They have another stock model that looks really nice.

Anthony - I should clarify that while this is my first Audi, I grew up with them starting with my folks '84 5000 turbo. My father is on his 4th A6 in row (leases a new one every 3 years) and my mom drives a '95 cabriolet that only has 45k miles on it (she obviously doesn't get out out much). So, while I haven't lived with them in 20 years...it's always been a brand I've been a fan of.

Marcus - can you give me a pointer on where to get clears for the side markers...I did that on my 996 (now sold) and like it much better. Interesting you mentioned dropping it...I just picked up a set of KW v3 COs from a guy (Spider99) over on AudiWorld. Now I need to find the right set of wheels. I'm open to suggestions.

06A6 - I agree on the OEM wheels. The car came with a set of 19" Blizzaks, so I may use the stock wheels for my winter setup. Time to go wheel shopping :)

Welcome to the forum, very very nice indeed. 20s would look killer so make sure you post pictures when you get them. Sadly I saw one just like yours today and the guy switched the wheels to Chrome 18s what a crime...

The wheels don't suit the car, I agree. They could have done better and wheels can make or break a car :)
A nice set of wheels (19 or 20s) right at the edge of the fenders and a drop would make it just perfedct! I am so envious....
