Yay or nay? Lightweight Crank Pulley?

how do these lightweight pulleys stand up against the stock pulley with the harmonic balancer? Horrible harmonics? Is it something that would be worthy for a fresh balanced motor? Thanks

Re: Yay or nay? Lightweight Crank Pulley?

I have just the crank pulley and I don't know if it made a difference. I did a bunch of other mods DPs, CB, TB, GIAC at the same time. Runs great though!

Re: Yay or nay? Lightweight Crank Pulley?

The biggest thing to consider is if our engines are internally or externally balanced? I am new to the audi community so I cant really say how these engines are built....yet. I come from the 3000GT/Stealth world, and they are internally balanced. So, the major function of that dampener is to just dampen sound. I have a generic one on the 3000GT and couldn't be happier.

Re: Yay or nay? Lightweight Crank Pulley?

i heard from a reputable company who sells their own pulley, that their pulley and every other pulley on the market that they tested, LOST power on the dyno. He followed by saying this and i quote. "i guess audis like the stock pullies"

Re: Yay or nay? Lightweight Crank Pulley?

A possible reason for loosing power is that altering the flywheel, and crank pulleys can create false knock that gets picked up by the ECU. This can be further aggravated by defective, or super hard race mounts.

I had this problem. One quick tweak of the code, and the problem was fixed.
