Are there any good engine treatments out there for our A4's? (ie. STP, Mobile 1, etc). Or does anyone suggest a good treatment from personal experience?

    Re: Engine Treatments

Just maintain it normally and take care of it. I wouldn't really worry about any sort of treatment yet, as your car is only 2 years old

If you read your Audi Manual, you'll see, Audi does not recommend any engine treatments

Well, the funny thing is that Audi also recommends engine oil changes every 10,000 miles.

    Re: Engine Treatments

I've used VSOT (Valvoline synthetic oil treatment) on several vehicles during oil changes and I think it works well. It boosts your synthetic oil's additive pack. There are several chemical analyses located on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com. I have also used the Autorx treatment on 2 older cars and found that it really did do its job. Info on autorx can be found at the same site and on their homepage. Hope this helps.

    Re: Engine Treatments

Most additives and treatments are snake oil IMO. However, I skeptically tried BG products to deal with a carbon build up problem on an older Porsche and was amazed at the results.

    Re: Engine Treatments

On a car as new as a B7, I wouldn't recommend using anything other than proper maintenance. That, and I think most additives and "treatments" are just a bunch of snake oil. Except Seafoam and AutoRX, those two work miracles on older/high mileage engines.

get out on the highway and run it at 6500 rpm in 3rd for a few miles....that should burn off any carbon! Just kidding!

    Re: Engine Treatments

Well the reason I ask is because I always use Shell V-Power but I get $2 per gallon off premium fuel from Get-Go once a month (grocery store discount thing) and to prevent carbon buildup that is already added to the Shell V-Power I wanted to add a can of STP fuel treatment or something when I use the Get-Go fuel.

    Thoughts?
