k guys, when its time for the r4 (remember i dubbed it that cuz my last names roman) to join my family i figure i will have roughly 3k to spend. i originally wanted to do the whole DTM s4 kit but then i figured i could do that at a later date. well now i'm stuck because i dont know what to get. i want a little bit of everything to tide me over until i do major projects like a full body kit, complete revamp of the interior. here is what i have come up with. the r4 will be red so a blacked out grille is a must along with a carbon fiber hood. after that... im lost. what do you think?
    gotta get the car first.

    Re: 3K to burn

i think maybe you should just stick with a4, otherwise nobody's gonna know what the hell you're talking about.

you can call it an ra4, but you gotta at least get an "a" in there somewhere.

be careful, audi might sue you if they find out.

blackout grille is a definite unless it's on a black car...then it's questionable. carbon fiber hood is alright, but i'm not such a fan of those.

What MAY look good on a car like that though is painting the roof black.

    Re: 3K to burn

you gotta do black rims if it's red and you have a blacked out grille. cb hood only looks good if it's a black car imo so i'm not sure about that one. you start having stuff that individualy stands out and it's gonna start looking like a ricer.

    Re: 3K to burn

I think I will come down to do u want more show or go? Cuz one area will lack more then the other. With only 3k if u got the s-line, then a blackout rs4 grill, blackout the headlights and clearcorner them, and if u wanted a cf splitter to go witht the hood you'd get. Rims might be a strech on that budget unless u dont want as much go stuff. For go id say Forge DV, ECU flash, and depending on how u decide to spend money MAYBE an exhaust. Also prolly an rs4 rear sway bar, ss brake lines. If you couldnt tell im more into the go stuff.

Audi does have the name r4 already, I thought they had it on the schedule they released awhile back. The baby r8 . I doubt they would sue unless you started making money on it.

    Re: 3K to burn

ok guys so i think the CF hood will take a back seat for the time being. that leaves me with a blacked out grille. leaves me quite a bit of cash to toy with. i was actually thinking that a suspension and rims would more then suffice. i always said and still do that a car no matter how pimped out and good looking isnt sh*t if its riding like a chariot because the guy or gal didnt lower it. lets face it... factory suspension 99% of the times is suited for the average joe who has no itention of lowering and doesnt care about an unsightly gap tween the tires and fenders. i found h&r coilovers for just over $1K. after that if i could find some replicas of teh s5 or r8 rims id definately do that. also... i think the best route for me is a little of it all. i want show but i also want go. $3K wont put me in first place by any means but its a start if i add one or 2 parts for speed. any help on the rim side???
    gotta get the car first.

Hmmm wheels.... There are always RS4 reps, O.Z ultraleggra both of which you can get in black and should fit in your price range.

    Re: 3K to burn

    hmmm... 3k... what to do

    Well. Go! Of course...

    - Chip (your choice!) ~ $500
    - Exhaust (Borla) ~ $750
    - Swaybars (S4 H&R, front/rear) ~ $500
    - Coilover suspension (Vogtland or Koni) ~ $1,000
    - Injectors (Bosch TT225) ~ $375

That's what I'd do... that way you have a sleeper that no-one expects. "What was that? Can't be a stock A4... that was too fast!" But... you'll have to take it easy as your brakes are definitely going to be noticeably deficient with the extra zip.

I know it's a tad over 3k, but it's all stuff you'll get anyways (in one form or another) so why not pony up now and be happy happy sooner?!

    Or, for show:

    - Tint ~ $300
    - Rims (OZ ULs) ~ $1,500
    - Tyres (B'stone Potenza RE01Rs) ~ $1,500

Oops... broke the bank... so ya. Go for go, not show.
