B5 A4 FWD brake upgrade options...

i really need to replace my brakes and was wondering what the best bang for the buck would be?

keeping in mind i have 17" and FWD, what would you guys suggest.... would like the keep the bill under 600.

A8 rotors with TT Front Carriers.

• A8 OEM Brembo Rotors about $100 Shipped
• TT Front Carriers (used) $150-$200 Shipped

$300 Total

I got the above, just waiting for my ATE U-grooves and Mintex pads to wear out, then I'll slip 'em on. They WILL fit behind the stock 16" wheel!

I have Quattro, and believe they will work on FWD as well.

Not right now. We're in the midest of packing and then moving to new house and then it's off to Wisconsin to visit my Dad.

It took 50K to wear my original front brakes out.

want new calipers, rotors, and pads, also steel braided lines.

also does anyone know the biggest size rotors and calipers i can fit behind 17" wheels?

I got the ECS stage 1 upgrade as well... haven't really tested them out other than street driving, but so far no fade. Looks good too. They might be a bit above the $600 mark though. You can see them on my picture thread... 4th photo from the top.

nice thing about them, for another $750'ish, you can upgrade to the porsche calipers and brake lines at a later date.

Hassmeister and I talked about these brakes and the price a while ago. I'm just waiting for my per diem check to come in and I'm ordering the same set up. I did check out the rotors and it IS what he said. Now to just order it all!!!

Just wished I lived a bit closer to him so he could help me with the install when I do it in the next couple of months.
