    USA has the largest team and the biggest pool of athletic talent, so they should definitely end up winning the most medals. I might be biased, but Australia always does well, considering it has less than 20 million people compared to the USA's 290 million.

    I agree about the olympics getting worse....maybe it's just the TV coverage?

    I enjoy watching the swimming events, even though I'm a terrible swimmer. They just amaze me, they're like freaking fish! Some of the T&F events are great too.

    I agree the swimmers are bad ass.

    For the most part, the US can't win every single year for having the most Gold Metals. Sure, the US has the largest pool for good talents but what it comes down to is training. If other countries are putting more time into training their atheletes than the US, the US should do the same as that of other countries. There is no one to blame but themselves for doing bad. No one can really dominate anymore in the olympics, everyone has an equal chance.

    the olympics are cool to watch, depending on the venue. i am still amazed by the flexibility of the female gymnists.

    I have been watching a lot of the olympics. Whatever event it is, I dont care Ill watch it.

    Mainly because, well Im Greek and I have some huuge national pride. I really hate that I couldn't make it to watch the olympics in person in Athens this year, but it never turned out. But I will be going for 3 weeks next year with my mom and grandfather to see where he grew up and go all over the country, itll be ****in awesome.

    Okay, so I'm going to go on a limb here and say you're likely Australian. Am I close?

    <rant>

    And YES, the TV coverage SUCKS. OH MY GOD I SWEAR they get the DUMBEST people to be commentators. I just want to reach into the screen and strangle them for their stupidity. The gymnastics commentators are the WORST. SO ridiculously stupid they should be barred from reproducing for the sake of the future.

    </rant>

    ...back to the topic of Australia, seriously, how cool is that chant they have? The "OZZIE OZZIE OZZIE, OY OY OY!" one!? I want to root for the Australians just so I can join in on that chant

    Good guess , but I've lived in the USA for almost 5 years, so I cheer for both Aussies and Yanks.

    It would be nice to have some live TV coverage, rather than a carefully packaged presentation of 3 or 4 sports with an 8 hour delay.

    hahahahaha, you just straight called us "Yanks"...that's hot Where in Australia are you from originally?

    Yeah, live coverage WOULD be nice, but then how would they show 239042 commercials per hour? And those lovely vignettes about the athletes and their struggles for whatever, complete with annoying narration and super-cheesy music! Can't live without those!

    I like to think that my passport offers me diplomatic immunity from political correctness. Anyway, I used "Yanks" as a term of endearment, like friends do.

    I'm from Sydney, site of the greatest Olympics ever. Though, if you watched on US television, you probably wouldn't know that.

    Oh no no, I'm not at all offended by the term "Yank". I'm tough to offend anyway

    Sydney...nice. I reeeeeaaaallly want to go there sometime. My friend spent a year in Australia with the study-abroad program (she was in Wollongong) and she has nothing but rave reviews of Australia in general.

    btw, add another gold to Australia's medal total cuz Thorpe just won another one in the 200m freestyle. Unstoppable that guy...

    I just got my latest Playboy in the mail today. They have the Olympic chicks naked. Some are hot, but some have bodies that are muscular and have small boobies. That was weird.

    But, the best part is the additional special issue they included with it, which was "College Coeds". High quality stuff, even though overall I think Playboy sucks.

    That's my contribution to the Olympic thread.
    "Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

    I am going to go out and buy that Issue. Speaking of V-ball players. I lived across the hallway from one a couple years ago. Great BODY! Always wanted to see her naked =P and I did haha during this annual celebration of the first rain of each school year where crazy muther ****ing students run around campus naked. She ran naked and I made sure I caught her in action. Yes, I am sick, but I bet every single one of you would have done the same.
