Sorry, one last ? about CC mod.

    From AW's tech article: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext.html

It says to drill the two holes in the back of the headlight housing. How does one know where to drill EXACTLY? I want to only drill the necessary holes, meaning I don't want to drill away half the unit looking for these orange tabs. Anyone know a "rule of thumb" for looking for the right spot to drill?

    Thanks guys!

u can see where the tabs are from the front, so just imagine al ine going straight back and drill at that point. i found it helped a lot to pull up that rubber weather strippign that goes along the side of the light so that i had a complete view of where i was dremeling. then u can just glue that stripping back on after, worked out fine

Drill from the top and bottom. Not behind the tabs.

Yeah, just too easy to break the tab in that direction and not go to far into the headlight at all.

do yourself a favor, do not drill out the orange tabs, drill into the back of the headlight unit through the black part, then get a real fine flat head screwdriver and pop, or snap the orange tabs off. other wise u may drill too much of the ornage tabs out and have big hole showing in the clear part of the headlight, aka what i did the first time......

So I would be drilling from the front of my headlights?? Wouldn't that make a really ugly hole?

Not the front. The top and botom sides. It's clear there if you peel back the black rubber on top. You can see the little tab stickig out there and it's easier to get to.

The tech article on AW is missing that "Pull back on the black rubber strip" part.

I simply found the way I do it the easiest and least intrusive to the housing. Done so many, that it's become no biggie.
