    Suspension Question FWD vs. Quattro

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have '04 1.8T FWD that came with non sport suspension. Installed Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Set and am wondering if I can replace my stock shocks with ultra sport ones from quattro.

    Dampers

I would suggest that you change them at the time you upgrade your springs. Stock dampers will not hold up long term with lowered springs. And it is cheaper in the long run to do it now, and avoid the cost of a 2nd wheel alignment. Koni's come to mind. Give me a call sometime.

    Oscar,
I dont know if you read my post before replying or not, but I already have springs installed and my question was in regards to Audi stock US (ultra sport) shocks not Koni's.

I believe the fronts will fit, but not the rears...

I''d go with konis if you're going to end up getting shocks like Oscar suggested.. I have them paired with apex springs and it handles nice.

Hey Dejan, I have Pro Kits on my car ('03 quattro w/SP) and still use the stock SP shocks. If the US shocks are the same as SP I think you'll be okay as the Eibachs are only 0.75" lower than SP and US springs. I think I eventually will have to replace them with aftermarket shocks as they aren't an optimal match but in the short-term they're okay. Others have done this w/no problems also.

The way i understand it, stock SP and US shocks are the same but i'm not certain. Maybe someone else can confirm this. I'm pretty sure stock non-SP shocks and US shocks are different.
