    Vid: Murcielago v. Gallardo v. 360 Modena v. 911 TT v. NSX R v. M3CSL

I just came across this vid on another forum. Besides the NSX, which did suprisingly well, I knew there had to be interest here given the rest of the cars are all Euro blood. Vid is about 8 mins, so I would recommend doing a save as.

I don't want to spoil, but I will just say that the Ferrari's performance was also suprising. Of course, not sure how much impact the leftside steering wheeled cars had on the Japanese drivers.

yeah, the M3 csl is different from the regular M3. only sold in europe too.

very nice vid. really surpised about the NSX. i thought that the porsche and ferrari would have done better.

911 turbo is heavy. since they were driving cars upwards of 200000, they should of used a GT2 instead. I really wish theyd bring the CSL here.

i thought there was rumor of it possbily squeaking over, but i doubt it...

it's only marginally better performance wise, but cost like 50% more... it's basically an M3 on a diet (about 250lbs) , and i think power was bumped to 360 hp...

That porsche should have done alot better. The NSX can't be that stiff of a competition. They definetaly should have used a GT2.

That was such a hot video. The NSX-R held up really well, but it's too bad it overheated toward the end. Guess keeping up with those Lambo's in the straightaway was just asking a little too much, although it did really well in the turns. Kinda surprised by the 360 Modena's lack of competition. They shoulda run a GT2, too, not a 911TT...might have been a different race.

But HOT DAMN those Lamborghini's are amazing! Soooooooo hot. That Gallardo...in black...so hot right now...

you guys underestimate the nsx-r. may not be all that powerful but it can certainly hold its own. i'm sure a lot of it has to do with driver skill, you can tell that the lambos are quite a bit faster. if the nsx did'nt handle as well as it does, i doubt it'd have done as well. cool video

Wow, when did they start speaking in english in those Best Motoring series? I'd like to see the rest of that tape. It should contain one on one battles in drag and stopping as well.

I've seen a few of the Best Motoring DVDs, and all have been fantastic. There are a few sites out there you can buy them from. They do some great comparos. Really put the cars to the test, and through their paces. Most of the ones I've seen have an English narrator as well as some subtitles.

Funny, we were chatting about this one eralier today...

No doubt that the NSX was set up well and was outhandling the Lambos, but how much of that do you think was a product of the NSX being righthand driven like those drivers are used to? At any rate, the way the Murcielago was pulling on the cars was impressive to say the least.

As for the M3 CSL, also impressive how it hung in there. Here is a good write up on it for those who asked about it: http://www.bmwworld.com/models/m3_csl.htm

RHD and LHD dont really matter to the japanese plus those are race car drivers, people drive LHD cars over here all the time and it shouldnt cause a drastic diff. Nice vid.

I thought the lightweight version of the M3 in Europe was just known as the M3 LWT? What does the CSL stand for?

Hmm... I just remember a semi-recent issue of Eurotuner or European Car with a BMW tuner that got a new M3 LWT in the U.S. Said it was 1 of only a couple in the U.S.

The CSL stands for Coupe Sport Light. Here is some history for the curious: http://www.edmunds.com/news/conceptc...6/article.html
