    Good or bad idea ? My insurance is killing me lately (500+ per month) and i want to drastically cut costs but i love my audi way too much , do you think i will get as much enjoyment from an vw ? Please help out all of you who have had / drivin one .TIA

    280 p/ month roughly on ins. and probably i wouldlnt my monthly payments from above 200 dollars . I just cant get any insurance on this car that is decent and i dont know why , becuse its a very safe and practical car when you think about from an non enthusists point of veiw .

    that's alot of money being saved. It's all about sacrafice meng!
    ruff it out with the gti which is my 1st love. ( i never owned one because that is a high theft car in my area of brooklyn) My love for the gti made gain interest in audi's and here i am.
    Go for the gti my boy had one and he would on my integra w/swap big time.
    Go for it!



    Don't look at it as a down grade look at it as a side step
    audi = class and awd
    golf = fun, sporty and fwd

    You could save a bunch of money by switching to Geico... Nah, but in all reality, try switching insurance companies... Geico wanted to bill me over $250/mo for my 3000GT yet when I went through State Farm it was only $70/mo full coverage! Try shopping around first before you get rid of it!!

    hahah well i have had my lisence suspended over 4 times (damn stupid mustang gt's ) and a slew of over 100 mph speeding tickets , plus i am 20 , and live in a high risk area (**** miami) so all things stack up against me .

    Your lucky you can even get insurance with a driving record like that. I would move to a GTI for a few years till your record cleans up.
