I can just hook it up between the guitar and amp to mess with tones right?

Yeah those are dope. I'm not a fan of line six products, but when me and my band(now defunkt) went into the studio, my Peavey 5150 came through the mix horrible. Couldn't get the tone to sound thick enough, so we juiced one of those little guys up. Made a world of difference.

yea ive had one of those for like a year now, its fun if you like screwing around in your house with your tones, but onstage the thing sucks. if your playing a coffee house ok its fine, but once you pass up like 200 hundred people in a room, it starts sounding like shit. just go with a tube amp like a mesa single rectofire and slap some fat EMG 81s on your guuuiittaarrr. then get some stomp boxes. you will go far. oh yea, i sold it.

JMG - where did you get your RS4 replica rims? are they good quality rims and how much were they if you dont mind me asking...those are the ones i wanted but i've heard some mixed reviews about the replica rims on highline wheels or whatever that site is, so i wasn't sure if it was a good idea. thanks

i've got one for sale (pod xt) if anyone wants it. i used to record stuff to my computer with it using Fruity loops (drum machine), but i've stopped doing that now that our singer has built a recording studio in his house.

I got them used from a fellow AZer. THey are different than the ACHtuning wheels.

The one thing i noticed about achtuning RS4 replicas is that there is slight difference in the spoke design. The oem wheels appear to get skinnier towards the middle, while the ACH wheels are a uniform width.

I also hear that both the ACH and my replicas are stronger than OEM!!

just go with a tube amp like a mesa single rectofire
single rectifier is a HUGE waste of money, might as well pay the extra what 200 dollars and get a dual rectifier, i've had two and i love them to death.

    Whoa scary.

I had the exact same setup.. My pod pro sounded like garbage through my 5150..

I did use the pod directly into the board, it worked fine.. Didnt really have that nice "warm" tone to it, but it sounded good.

i've heard only 2 5150's and both of them got mad feedback. are all of them like that, im looking for a practice amp, with a good distortion and clean to it. dont wanna go mesa cuz its just a practice amp.

Yeah man, if your not running a noise supresor cranked than your going to get feedback from the 5150 like no ones business. It is death to run a 5150 without a noise supressor, i mean, i'ts just something you don't do! Haha...

To Saturnine: The pod did sound like ass with my 5150 but I actually had to re-set all my settings to get a good tone back. The pod kind of nutralizes the frequencies coming in, you have to get extreme with your levels to produce a good sound of it. It took me and my other guitarist a good hour to finally get it dialed in. Long night.....

I would not recommend getting a 5150 for a practice amp(unless you can run full volume for practice). If your not running the 5150 hard, than it sounds like shit. Half levels produce a dead tone and doesn't have the cut it does at full volume. Plus the clean channel of the 5150's leave something to be desired. It's definantly not a well rounded amp. I used the Peavey 5150 for my guitar tracks(1 and 2) distortion in the studio, and a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier for my cleans and underlying distortion(3,4,5).

When I practice, I practice at full volume, so I can't really recommend a good quiet-med level practice amp. Maybe look into a medium level marshall . I don't like their distortion, but their cleans are nice.. And they sound good at quiter levels.

its the same deal with most tube amps, so i'll prolly go solid state.

their distortion is too muddy for me, and if i were to get a practice amp just for a bad ass clean, i would definately go fender. fender makes the best clean ever.
