Crazy Exhaust Mod...anybody tried it?

My buddy just got this thing called Qtec on his WRX, it makes it sound pretty ricey, but it makes it faster for sure. Any possible application w/ our turbos? Also, would we need dual qtecs or just one after the DP?

I was under the impression that turbos don't need back pressure. That's why it seems so applicable for turbo cars. Even if it didn't add 21 HP like to the WRX, it would still sound unbelievable I bet.

but i removed the resonators on my CVT...and the car is BACKFIRING LIKE A MOTHER!!!

yah... its strange though... lots of people have taken off the resonators and they have had no backfiring at all...

im guessing it probably has to do with the CVT...

god i HATE stupid CVT. so many headaches when it comes to modding...

umm, there have been ppl that have bought the electronic wastegates and they all seem to work for a lil while then they fry and no longer work after that. forgot ifit was a heat issue or whatnot.

Those have been out forever. When I was in high school, a long while ago, I had a buddy with a Buick GN that had dump pipes on it. It wasnt electric though, you just laid down under the car and flipped a lever like a butterfly and that opened it up to the outside. I would think a manual one would be better than the electric for longevity. This would definitely work for turbo cars as it relieves back pressure.

Now before anyone says we need back pressure, our exhaust, even aftermarket with a max diameter of 2.75(most 2.5) is going to cause enough back pressure to keep everything in check. My buddy with the STi that Ive posted pics of recently took off his exhaust. Sounds sick and he said he noticed improvements at the low and top range, and throttle response.

can we use downpipes and cats from VW 1.8T's? They offer it as a package......i emailed him for when it would be avail for a4 and he replied



Aren't the A4 and Jetta the same car? If so then they will work.
