I spoke with Anthony at Greedspeed today who mentioned that the US version PSS9s are very similar to the euro versions and have the LINEAR springs. Since there has been so much confusion, I decided to give Aaron at Neuspeed a call.
Here is the news. The only reason they are calling the springs linear is because there is a tiny helper spring in the fron coils that collapses when the car is let off a lift. They help seat the springs. Other than that they are a true closed end linear rate spring measured at 550 lb/inch. The ID for the springs is 72mm and the free lenght is 200mm so if we can find racing springs that size, we can easily pop some bad boys on there. The valving is slightly softer, but Neuspeed still says this is not going to be a friendly street spring. This one is for those who want to get down and dirty. The other modification to the US models is a modified rear perch that improves the reliability of the rear and allows adjustment from the top end.
This is great news for those enthusiasts who were looking for a go coilover and not a show coilover.
Thanks for the heads up Anthony...and thanks for the info. Aaron
Cheers! Mike
