My friend and I are thinking of starting to detail cars to make some money... My nieghbor owns a shop so we're going to see if we can get in with him.

I was wondering before I went and commited myself to doing this is there anything I should know before hand? What should I use? How much time needs to be spent and anyother stuff you have to add would be fantastic, thanks!

My brother details cars. He actually just detailed a WRX that won its class at Hot Import Nights... he spends like 6 hours on a car, and gets paid around $200 per car. I'm not sure what exactly he does though.

When you ask "what should I use?", are you refering to what products, etc...? Also, do have experience detailing, or with orbital buffers? If not, then I'd say you may want to rethink your plans until you get a little more experience.

But that would sound like a nice setup if you could get it running since your neighbor already has a shop.

Detailing is a lot of work, and you really need to know what you're doing to get the job done right.

We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
