Symtoms of coilpack failure?

1) rough idle?
2) blinking CEL?
3) fuel smell?
4) no power?

if all these are the symtoms of coilpack failure, i guess i have one~
wonder is there a coilpack recall for what years of A4??

I think I have the same problem. Except my car is not running.

coil pack = missfires, rough idle, no power and blinking CEL at times. (my CEL didnt blink, but some other people's did)

If yoru CEL is blinking, DO NOT DRIVE the car... Def. Sounds like coilpack it out..

They are pretty cheap these days. Easy fix too.

So what's the best places to get coilpacks? ECS or dealer??

99s arent really prone to failure the way 2001 coilpacks are.

Check the condition of your plug boot and check your spark plugs.
