I was replacing a hose and this thing popped off.

What connector is that? When it is not connected it causes the car to sound terrible, and idle like its about to stall out. I cannot get it back together to save my life, any suggestions. TIA

I'm pretty sure that's the crankcase breather hose/valve. Basically, if it leaks, it's a vaccuum leak, and will cause a rough idle.

Why can you not get it back together? Is the hose ripped, or is the clamp beat? If it's the clamp, just get a screw hose clamp. If it's the hose, go to the parts department at the dealer. I should be a cheap part.

BTW - I would not tap that line for your boost gauge, especially if you're just using zip ties. They're prone to leaking, and it's the FPR is a bad place to have a leak since you may run lean.

And I would replace the crappy braided vac lines. You can get the replacement lines for very cheap from most autoparts stores. It is 5/32 inch , or 3.5mm ID hose.

Its looks like it is supposed to snap together. but i had trouble getting it to stay. so i put some silicone around it. then tied it with some metal wire. We'll see if it holds. When it is not connected there is a triangular shaped thing inside with a round orange thing, it looks as if its a nozzle of some sort? I think you are right though.

APR taps into the FPR line...so does just about every other manufacture...can't hurt it to bad...

Not the best idea to do. There are other places better to tap from. And saying APR does it isn't much of an excuse IMO.
