I believe it actually said "owning" a gun. And people are allowed to carry guns. Just go down to your local courthouse and fill out the paperwork.

Yeah, just because *some* are afraid to even think about guns don't like them, doesn't mean that the political buzzwords and things you hear on the news are true about them.

Do some searches on gun-related violence statistics, and you'll find that the majority of gun related uses are in self defence, warding off a would-be attacker/rapist/etc...

Not only that, but most crimes commited with a gun, are by those people who are not legal to carry one and the gun itself is usually stolen.

Actually, according to this site the majority of gun uses (which result in fatility (57%)) are suicides.
