1.8T exhaust manifold

Is it worth it to port the stock exhaust manifold with a K04? I found a spare manifold for $50.00 just wondering if it's worth the money of having SPP port it out.

It should improve the spool up time. I would say yes if haven't installed the K04 yet because you have to take the exhaust off any way so while your in there go ahead and port it out but remember you also have to port the turbo housing to the same size if it isn't already. Im not sure if you already know this but the most common procedure is to make the opening the same size as the gaskget as the gaskget is usually a bit bigger than the housing and exhaust.

Well sor far what I can tell you guys is that:

1. K03 Exhaust inlet is 1.5 inches
2. K04 Exhaust inlet is the same
3. Stock Exhaust manifole is 1/8 inch bigger in diameter
4. the gasket between the two is about 1/4 larger in diameter than the Exhaust manifold outlet. And I stress ABOUT.

I just thought that this test would be pointless because I am doing a K04 and port at the same time.

hey what do you guys think if this setup, which is what I have now.

K04 with Milltek Cat, borla downpipe(2.0 in) and exhaust (2.25 in), and ported Mani (if it makes a diff). All required software and 5.0 bar FPR.

Hey should I use the Bosch supers that came with my K04 kit or should i stick to the BKR6E NGK plugs (gapped at .028)

This mod fall under the catagory of "piece of mind" mods.. Althou, you might not really feel a difference, it does help with the airflow etc..

Hey the K04 is nice. Pulls nicely. I can't say if the porting did anything, cause that change was not isolated.
