What made you buy an Audi?

For me it was this car:

My uncle had one, that he bought new. I loved that car, but it had a lot of electrical problems.


Then my parents bought one of these when I was a kid:


I loved riding in that car. It also had some issues. They traded it for a Peugeot 505. Now that was a POS.

When the A4 came out, I knew I had to have one. It took me a while, but now I do.



Even then I wanted the Avant.

for me it was the Audi quattro GT coupe rallied in the mid 80's i was but a young buck and said to myself. "self, i will own an audi when i get older"

then the release of the A4 and it's domination in the various touring car series throughout the world sealed the deal for me. I had to have an Audi and i had to have Quattro!!!

Watching touring car racing on Speedvision did me in. Had to have one.

Neighbour had a Quattro Coupe, that was gorgeous, used to always watch it rip down the road. Top it off with rallying, knew I had to have one at some point.

3 azers (funkadelic, jaystizo, and illusive45) introduced me to this well rounded car..i wanted something cool...not pretentious...something to take me up to the mountains to snowboard..and fancy a restaurant the next day.



and boy! jaystizo and i took his 02 avant to tahoe in a crazy snow storm..dayam that thing can handle..i was sold! bought my car less than 3 months after that trip!

the car i really wanted was too expensive. while that's not all a lie, i've always wanted an audi so here i am. good looking, nice interiors, solid cars. my car is slow. haha but at least that's relatively easy to fix.

I've had a BMW, and a VW and I was instantly in love with the feel of german engineering. It's more responsive to the road and really feels like your driving rather than just riding as opposed to my Honda and Mitusbishi. Then I saw clips and pics of the BTCC with Frank Biella and I fell in love with the B5. When I saw one on the road back in college I said to myself that I would get one as soon as I graduate.

My girlfriend had an A4 as her first car. Being her boyfriend, I was allowed to drive the car. It def. opened my eyes up to german automobiles. However I never thought I would be lucky enough to own one.

I got tired of being a responsible family man, and decided to get something fun. The TT is by far the best in its class as far as design performance cost and asethetics. It beats the snot out of boxters, Z3s and all the jap stuff.

i was test driving cars with my older bro when i was a senior in high school..drove all kinds of cars..BMW 325...saab9000T...etc..and then i drove an audi and i was SOLD b4 i even put it into first gear!

I was looking for cars during my first year of college (needed something to drive back and forth to bama)...stumbled upon AW and AZ, stuck around, liked what I heard...ended up buying one a few months later. I've never regretted it...every time I step into the car I'm reminded of how much I love it...

Look i just wen to the dealer that day to buy some xenons...30,000 dollar xenons!!! They were having a special that day and you got a car w/ the xenon purchase!!!

Of course you saw a deal when u see one so you had to get on e too!!!

Got tired of my Accord and didnt want to get another japanese car so looked at the Euros. Was either the A4 or a Jetta. And Teddy (BoostTed) was selling at the right time at the right price so I picked it up. Ive always liked the looks of the B5 Audis. B6s are growing more n more on me and a few years down the line I might have a B6 S4 Avant if Im lucky.

Back in High School (in the 80's ), my Dad asked me to pick out a few used cars to look at as a possible 2nd car (i.e., car that I could drive to school in). My big bro was really big into SCCA and always had several cars in the driveway, including porsches, healy's and MG's. Knew I wanted german but the only german car available in the paltry price range my Dad gave me was a audi 4000 quattro advertised by a college student going back to his country. It was a lot of car for the money and beautiful (black on black with a sreaming Blaupunkt cassette deck!). Better yet it handled amazingly!

Long story short, my Dad ended up choosing a used brown POS oldsmobile that leaked powersteering fluid and whined loudly if you turned the steering wheel too hard. And handling, well, need I say more? I vowed to oneday own an audi (and a porsche of course) and so far I've owned three audi's and will probably own many more in the future.

Yeah i`m the same as foo....i remember going to a WRC stage here in England with my dad when i was a kid back in the 80`s....soon as i saw that quattro take off over a crest it was just a long long waiting game.....

Well I can't stand jap cars, I came from a BMW so I had to have a german car. I fell in love with the s4 because it's fast and different. Plus it has quattro which is very useful here where it snows a bunch every winter. Basically a nice little car that's safe and fun to drive all year round.

I used to have a Nogaro S4 which was the only one in a 20-30 mile radius but that's gone now. I didn't want another bright attention grabbing car like that so soon hopefully I'll be the owner of a nice silver stage 3- S4. I figured if I'm going for a fast car like that why not make it a nice q ship.

not sure what it was... i was a BMW fanboi for many, many years... but after getting to test drive a few late model 3 series i fell off that wagon...

the interior in my VW's seemed better than the Bimmers, and the car was far from "the ultimate driving machine"... so after deciding i was going to spend near $50K on this next car i looked at just about everything in the price range, and the S4 by far was the best of the bunch...

it's the perfect combo of performance, style, luxury and fit and finish... if there is something better out there for the price, i didn't know about it...

that was a big part of it for me also..

funny also, as far as the A4.. the first a4 ads with the red a4 spinnin all 4 wheels in the gravel really hooked me.. ha.
then i bought a 2.8avant. oops. after a year, i ordered my 1.8t avant.

For me it was watching the Speed GT series. I still remember seeing Galati start from the 3rd position and drop the clutch, cut in between #'s 1 & 2 and take the lead Audi runs a similar commercial now with Pobst and the RS6.

---like it was yesterday------walked into the Audi/Porsche dealer, the salesman said go ahead and take it for a spin, no questions, no stips, no nothin, no bs... He said it's got a full tank, have fun.... I did, and I'm still having fun......

The rest is a long story, 6 or so months prior to my purchase of the A4 I was ready to purchase a TT, well that fell through. Come mid Feburary, I rollled(2x), flipped(2x), totalling my Tacoma. Shazzam!, I'm alive and a week later I was sitting in a Audi showroom about to pick up a very nice A4. Fate, it's a crazy thing.....
