I think short shifters are the best mod. Its really one that you acutally "use" all the time..

Does this mean that AMS now has a short shifter for 6spd 3.0?!
I've been waiting for AMS to come out with one! If this is true, I will order one today!

You better cal them. When I talked to them many months ago they claimed that the B6 S4 6 speed tranny and the one in the A4 were not the same and they could not understand why some people were selling the same short shifter for both cars. I assume this may be true of the 3.0's tranny.

    Hey Ya'll,

I just got this yesterday for my birthday gift ^_^ It did not come with any DIY instruction. Does AMS include the DIY instruction or do you guys know of a place where I can find one?

    Thanks,
    Oenophile

I cant imagine that shifters are different in terms of install. If they are then this wont help. If they arent, check out my neuspeed install http://hometown.aol.com/hyperm3/NeuspeedSS.html

Good luck and if you have any questions PM me.

There seems to be offer from Eurocode for the AMS 6 speed short shifter for 1.8T & 3.0 $199.00. Should I get it?

I don't have any experiences on short shifters so any feedback is welcome

I'd say get it. Whenever I've done short shift kits on my previous cars or my buddies' cars, it's normally what I and they've been happiest with. I'm still on the fence with this mod however, the gearbox in my new A4 is the smoothest I've ever used and I'm not sure if it needs a change.

Are the AMS SS for 1.8T 5 spd height adjustable? Coz i think for the 3.0 6spd, it is not... it only lowers it a 1/2 inch.... I want one! Any more info on this SS would help my decision.... Thanks!

I heard good things about the AMS SS for 1.8t.... I hope it'll be just as good for the 3.0 6spd.... I can't wait to get more info.
