front and rear suspension is the same so the springs for all intent and purpose should work I'm not sure if the spring rates are the same because on my avant the H&R c/o's are the same for sedan and avant

The rear spring rates are different between the two cars, at least for OE springs.

Aftermarket springs which are typically stiffer start to blue the difference, as the stiffer you make them, the less they need to be different.

So while FWD and Quattro springs have identical mounting pieces, depending on the spring, they may or may not provide the proper look and ride height.

The springs are 100% interchangeable as long as they are both from a sedan and have the same engine .

For example a 2003 A4 1.8t with a sport package the FWD and the quattro have the same paint marks and part number front to back

THey are the same fitment, but they are not the same spring rates. Most people enjoy the look of a quattro spring on a FWD car as it seems to add a little forward rake and actually make the rear of the car sit nice and even (due to the quattro springs being tuned for a heavier ass end). cheers!
