and why cant our cores look like this?

Yeah, you'd think that there are enough B6s out that there would be a better AM offering.

The lack of options keeps the Greedspeed twin SMIC high on my list. It's $850 but at least I know I could probably install it myself

Don't forget, FMICs aren't really for looks.

That GReddy one does look damn nice though.

I really like the OCT one that DLSJ5 has but it's so damn expensive. The Ecode one IMHO looks like shit, it doesn't even fit the openings of the AM bumper very well at all. It looks too square and not rectangle enough. The core is too tall and not wide enough as well as the end tanks that are edged off whereas the round one would probably be better in looks and performance wise. I wish we had something like a spearco core premade to fit our cars. I think I might work something out on that..hehe hopefully :)

    Sweet,

Thanks for the compliment, I got a great deal on it much less than advertised. The Ecode one I think, is a Spearco core, the end tanks aren't actually square they angle in, you can't tell straight on, but from the side they taper down to the tubing. They actually got 8Hp on the dyno with it as well. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that it wouldn't cover the whole mouth of my Caractere bumper, you're right it's not as wide, but it is thick, thicker than my OCT, but it works well with the stock bumper.

All you would have to do is remove the grill to get the same look. The lack of a grill would probably open the FMIC to a lot of damage on the road though.

This is correct, the Ecode FMIC end tanks have a trapezoidal cross section. But i do wish it was a little wider to cover the width of the lower grrlle also. Ahh, with my stock bumper it's not that visible.

who ever said performance could not be achieved with beauty? i mean jeez i COULD slap in one helluva core in there and hack up my bumper or not have one at all.. then id prolly outperform every other FMIC out there.. whats wrong with adding to the visual aspect?

u pay for something to yield gains but does that automatically mean that it has to be ass ugly?

yeah, no sides, chop trunk, chop doors, chop roof, no hood(for better airflow)

i fail to see why some of you hardcore performance guys that scoff at people who like to ride in style arent driving fast gokarts. (sti???)

our cars are not performance machines, but a decent blend of performance, styling, and practicality...there is NOTHING wrong with trying to find more power out of your cars but you dont see people who like their cars to look good shitting on the performance threads by laughing that even with thousands in go mods you still lose to stock SRT-4.

maybe i should start posting in the headlight threads...

"ecodes?!?! **** ecodes...**** headlights, take it out, better airflow! why spend money on something that slows your car down. see at night? **** seeing at night. what are streetlamps for. you can see at night while i go drive faster than you into a wall."
