Just wanted to say hello to everyone... i've been lurking for a few days as my account was not activated for some reason...

Here's my new toy...

and here are my previous cars before the S4... this is by far the most rewarding car i've owned to date...

2004 Passat GLS

2003 Lancer Evo

2000 Jetta GLS 1.8T - owned with the Evo as a daily driver / beater

2002 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ

1999 Honda Civic Si

anyone know where there is a how to on removing the headlamps on the B6...? I've got a set of Euro Xenon+ coming in the next few days, and would like to tackle the install myself...

i think the S4 and A4 headlamps would be identical as far as removal... i'm not 100% sure though...

at the moment i have my eye on the Champion Motorsport RF33's in 19"...

but just not sure i wanna drop that coin on rims right now, with winter right around the corner... :(

The CHs would have looked great on the Audi, and should have fit just fine, no? And what made you get rid of the Evo? You couldn't have had it that long.

i put the CH's on the S4 and just didn't think they fit the style of the car very well, so i took them off, and they are sitting in the basement awaiting someone to buy them... ;) $2000 and they have less than 500 miles on them with S03's...

The Evo sure was fun to drive but it was a pretty punishing ride, and i didn't think it was a practical car for daily driving since we now have a newborn... there were other reasons as well, but those were the major ones...

if i could have both, that would be ideal, but we are looking at getting another house in the near future and $1200 in car payments wouldn't be helping that cause... ;)

I always thought the CHs looked pretty good on the B6's, but they do look damn good on the Passat.

Two or more cars is always the ideal, but yeah those payments will get ya. Curious, with the number of cars you've turned over in the past few years, do you lease or finance?

Hi Diesel'S4 and welcome on board.

I just installed my S4 Xenon ecodes to my A4, see the thread:

The installation is pretty straight forward: 4 screws (torx, T30) holding each housing. Remove the upper screws, but keep the lower screws attached, just loosen up them (you'll need a long screw driver for those). Pop out the wire socket with a screw driver head and unplug the other cable hook.

Then just pull those housings in one piece and replace the high beam bulbs and turn signal bulbs from your stock housings. For the HID unit, you need to remove 6 small torx screws from the behind of the housing.

After you've done the bulb changing just push the housings in appropriately and you're done.

REMEMBER THIS:

Use duck tape (or marker or what ever) to "save" the figure of your stock Xenon beams before removing the housing. This will be a great help when re-aligning the lights afterwards. I made a mark of the figure from 1ft distance and 25ft distance. And note that the Euro spec figure is slightly different than the US.

only one i leased was the first one... the Civic... after all the mods i had done to that including the Supercharger i lost my ass cause i didn't want to put the money into removing everything to part it out... so i've been financing since...

i've made out pretty well, only ended upside down on the Civic, other than that' i've come out on top or even... ;)

i'm thinking i'll be skipping some of those steps as the lights i am getting are entire units with bulbs and ballasts so i won't have to swap any bulbs or ballasts from my stockers...

Yeah, for you it'll basically be straight plug-and-play, literally. Shouldn't take much longer than 15-30 minutes to swap the housings, tops.

immediate plans are the Milltek catback, Hyperflow, and an oil change to Motul 8100 0W40 E-Tech Oil...

next spring i plan on the Champion Motorsport RF33 rims in 19", some sort of coilover setup, and the Milltek downpipes...

maybe later then some BBK's for the front and rear, but that remains to be seen...
