I have the ProCarPart headlights. They're made by Depot, which are also sold on other sites. I will agree that they're not as high quality as OEM. But, for the price, they're unbeatable. They look great, work great, although I've had them for one year.

From other longer-term owners, the only complaint is that if you run them with your "parking" lights on all the time, the corner light housing is prone to minor melting - since e-codes are not made to have the corner light being on all the time. To get around this, I simply cut the parking lghts, which I would have done either way with any set of e-codes.

Hey guys I have a question. I have heard that the procarparts and other cheap brands leak. Is there a way to add some sealant to them before installing if I am worried about leakage or should I just buy a better set of lights?

Just buy a better set of headlights. Valeo (OEM) headlights are of a much better build quality and look much better. I've never owned the Depot lights, but I'd guess the leaks come from poor sealing on the bulb cover, which would be a pain to add sealant to because you'd have to cut through the sealant each time you wanted to replace the bulbs. Just spend the $$$ and get good housings.

No, that's not where the supposed leaks come from. They're referring to the fogging from moisture getting inside the lens, which happens to Valeo OEM lights.

Again, I'll reiterate that the Depots are not OEM quality. But then again, with Valeos you need to get a special wiring kit to make them work. Hmmm... a few hundred extra dollars for the same look? I don't get it. They're way overpriced, and now they're in short demand. If anything, I'd buy from a junkyard before I'd pay almost $400 for Valeos (not to mention the extra fees for wiring kits).

My lights have never leaked. I also have seen many posts of lights leaking that were OEMs.

My biggest fear of the Depots is that they won't hold up well to highway rock chips. Other than that, they solid. And I've taken 1000 mile round trips frequently since I've had them, and not one blemish besides spattered bugs.

As I've stated many times, as far as my experience, the Depots are the best bang for the buck headlight upgrade out there. I previously had the crappy 96-97-98.5 headlights. Just cut the corner lights and you should have no worries.

yeah you can read the tech article in the DIY section of AZ.

edit... oops. I thought there was one posted. You just cut the grey wire (for 99.5+, not sure abou the others) and seal it off or use it to power city lights. THe lights will only blink when you signal.

My car had the 1 piece headlight installed already when i bought it. I read in the forum once that the difference between 99 and 99.5 are the headlights. What other ways can i distinguish if my car is a 99 or 99.5?

Clear side markers and I think the badges moved down to the middle of the rear deck.

I know they're talking about the fogging in the lense, and yes, it happens on OEM lenses, it happens on almost every set of lights made occasionally. However there are numerous posts by members on AW like TighTT who have stated that there is excessive repeated fogging with the Depot lights, simply because they aren't sealed properly, how do you think moisture gets into the lense?

the wiring kit is $45 and it usually comes free if you buy from ECS (or was it AWE? one of them)
