Just spend the $$$ and get good housings.
No, that's not where the supposed leaks come from. They're referring to the fogging from moisture getting inside the lens, which happens to Valeo OEM lights.
Again, I'll reiterate that the Depots are not OEM quality. But then again, with Valeos you need to get a special wiring kit to make them work. Hmmm... a few hundred extra dollars for the same look? I don't get it. They're way overpriced, and now they're in short demand. If anything, I'd buy from a junkyard before I'd pay almost $400 for Valeos (not to mention the extra fees for wiring kits).
My lights have never leaked. I also have seen many posts of lights leaking that were OEMs.
My biggest fear of the Depots is that they won't hold up well to highway rock chips. Other than that, they solid. And I've taken 1000 mile round trips frequently since I've had them, and not one blemish besides spattered bugs.
As I've stated many times, as far as my experience, the Depots are the best bang for the buck headlight upgrade out there. I previously had the crappy 96-97-98.5 headlights. Just cut the corner lights and you should have no worries.
